Homefront Ultimate Edition release date announced

Game and all the DLC for £20.

THQ has detailed Homefront Ultimate Edition it accidentally revealed last month.

As expected the re-release includes all previously released DLC, and launches across Europe for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on 23rd March.

It carries a suggested retail price of £19.99/€24.99. For that you get the game and both map packs, The Rock and Fire Sale, and the 870 Express Shotgun.

Homefront launched in March 2011 and became the year's best-selling debut original IP in the FPS category.

THQ's statistics show it to be one of the top three best-selling new IPSs overall.

That didn't prevent THQ from closing developer Kaos Studios down, however. A sequel is in development at Crytek UK.

Grave misuse of the word 'Ultimate'

Homefront didnt get much love when it was released. Picked up the Steelbook Edition from game for £15 and got the first map pack free in the Steam Summer camp thing they done. I really enjoy the game, at this price point it is definately worth picking up.

Its a solid shooter with a half decent setting. Multiplayer isnt as competetive as say CoD. Its just fun to jump in and have a blast with the online side of things.

Game is okay but has some big balance problems in the multiplayer. At least they're releasing it at the right price, even if it is a year too late.

Bit disappointed that Homefront sold better than Bulletstorm, RAGE, and Brink. Not like those games were brilliant all the way through, but Homefront?

Absolutely fucking SHIT campaign; excellent multiplayer.

If there's still plenty of people online this is well worth 20 quid.

I'll buy this so I am in the loop when the Crytek developed sequel comes out next year. I ignored it when it was new due in part to severe FPS fatigue and average reviews. I will pick this up for £20 though if it comes to PC..

I'll second CaptainQuint's opinion. The campaign sucked big sweaty balls, but the multiplayer was brilliant.

I just hope the inevitable sequel delivers a better campaign and keeps the multiplayer as good, or improves on it a bit.

This is the price all new games should be, they should scrap developing for new consoles until they can make a profit at this price point.

Hopefully this will bring more players to The Rock which was an abandoned wasteland when I tried playing it as DLC on numerous occasions.

So basically it outsold Bulletstorm. Marketing FTW...

Several people have told me to get it, basically the campaign is like 5/10, but the multiplayer is a stella 9/10.

    Thumbs up if correct!

So the multiplayer also sucks, then again i doubt the negs have even played it.

Abysmal single player, average at best online.
