Spiral Game Studios has announced a promising new PC game that's got dinosaurs in. And jetpacks, and mechs, and laser rifles.
It's called Orion: Dino Beatdown, it's a wave-based FPS for class-based teams of five and, in short, it looks pretty good.
Better yet, it will cost only $9.99 from OnLive or Steam.
And it's made by developers with pedigree: "an all-star assortment that helped bring you games like BioShock, Ghost Recon, Unreal Tournament, Forza Motorsport, Jade Empire, Halo, Borderlands and Mortal Kombat", according to the Spiral Games Studios website.
In Dino Beatdown, teams of five fight endless waves of dinosaurs - a mixture of T-Rex, Raptor and Rham-Phorynchus - earning credits to upgrade weapons and call in vehicles with.
You'll be able to use jetpacks, Medic Guns, cloaking devices, shotguns, machine guns, rocket launchers, magnums, laser rifles, hover bikes, buggies, mechs tanks and VTOLs.
Gameplay heralds the lively FPS games of old; gritty simulation isn't top of the agenda here.
Spiral Games plans to add a "wealth" of post-release support and content. And anyone that contributed to the Kickstarter campaign will get the game for free.
