Twisted Metal, Syndicate, Gotham City demos hit EU PlayStation Store

But where is Trine 2?

Demo versions of Twisted Metal, Syndicate and Pixeljunk Sidescroller launch today on the EU PlayStation Store.

Gotham City Impostors' online beta is now also available to all.

Syndicate's taster allows four players to team up and try out Syndicate's Western Europe campaign map. Both it and the Gotham City Impostors beta also launched on Xbox Live this week.

The delayed release of Trine 2 is still nowhere to be seen, however. The arty action-puzzle game launched on Xbox Live Arcade and the US PlayStation Store in December, but failed to materialise for European PS3 players.

Developer Frozenbyte told Eurogamer last month that Trine 2 was still going through Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's QA board.

"We are anxiously awaiting the European release ourselves!" Frozenbyte vice president Joel Kinnunen said. "We had both SCEA and SCEE versions ready at the same time. But it's out of our hands."

That was four weeks ago. Sony told Eurogamer it had no new information on Trine 2's launch date when we asked this morning.

Also this week: both Kane & Lynch games arrive for digital download, plus there's a new DLC campaign for Dead Island and a medley of SoulCalibur 5 song packs.

I'm a bit miffed about the Trine 2 delay tbh. I know I could download it from the US store but I don't want to fragment my download history (other than PS2 games and full speed PS1 games, that is), and I could pick it up on XBLA but since I played Trine 1 on PSN, I'd prefer to stick with it. I'm a mug, basically.

They must of found a serious issue with Trine 2 for this sort of delay

Let me guess: about one year ago?

Serious issue that it didn't prevent the game being released on XBLA in Europe OR for PSN in US?

Can't be localisations as done On XBLA? What's the cause for the oft repeated cases of delays in PSN Europe?!

Trine 2 is such a simple, straightforward game that I don't understand why it's not been released yet.

There is one story mode to it, which is complemented by a local co-op version, and an online co-op version. That's it. It's a side-scrolling combat game with a lot of puzzles. Playing it to completion on XBLA, I saw nothing that could be potentially flagged by Sony's cert team.

Can only assume there's a game stability issue that's failing SCEE's no doubt stringent tests.

@Cjail oh well. I'm not surprised, but its always worth asking.

Trine 2 sucks, imo. I wish I hadn't bought it.
It's basicly a simplistic puzzle game, based on shody physics. And combat, one said ? What combat ? Narrative is but some brit chick which resembles too much the tome of Desperate Housewives saying some bs about, something that happen sometime ago.
    Nice shiny graphics.

Syndicate & Twisted Metal Demo's will be downloading overnight tonight when It doesn't count as part of my download limit! Oooh, I've just spotted the Dead Island DLC :-) , great stuff!

I was re-playing the PS3's most marmite game last night (Kane & Lynch 2 dog days) and I still find it a damn fine game, fuck me it's gritty.

    @Retro_

I really, really don't think that's a marmite game. I think it's universally derided with good reason. You're unique in actually liking it.

    :p

@Syrette That's ok, I realise I must be retarded. I mean, I play Resistance online and not COD, I play RF:G online and not BF3... I guess I prefer the underdogs. :)

A demo for Under Siege? I thought this was going to be exclusive to America or something. Great news!
