Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock PlayStation exclusive in Europe

PC version in doubt.

The release of TV tie-in Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock will be limited to the PlayStation 3 and Vita in Europe, BBC Worldwide has announced.

Previously announced for PC as well, it's unclear if the game's PC version will still the light of day outside of Europe, or whether it has been canned completely.

The Eternity Clock stars the voice talents of current Doctor Matt Smith and wife/companion River Song, played by ER's Alex Kingston.

The BBC has previously boasted the success of PC Doctor Who tie-in series The Adventure Games, freely available from the BBC website.

Eurogamer has contacted BBC Worldwide for more information on the story and will update when we hear back.

I bought "Return to Earth" for the Wii and it didn't work, got a replacement and that didn't either, so hope the production quality is better, not that I have a PS3

Could be interesting as a platformer but hopefully it isn't a another rubbish game.

I'm hoping they've learnt their mistakes from Return to Earth on the Wii and it's DS counterpart with this TBH.

I could say it was the market they aimed at and the limitations of the hardware however compared to the PC point and click titles RoE was poor for a full blown release anyway.

The Eternity Clock can recover respect lost from RoE by the fans IF the story holds up to the current TV format (ie darker less cheese) and is more a PSN/Steam release then a £40 one, as gameplay wise it's no different from the other pc titles (platforming, stealth, and puzzles) which were free to begin with.

    Please, please, please be good

The PC games weren't perfect, but there was a good game buried in there somewhere. Interested by this.

That voice acting sounds like it comes from a early psone game.

I still say they should use video games to give fans the eleven Doctors story that will never be possible on TV. Use impersonators to do Hartnell, Troughton, Pertwee and Ecclestone if he's still being a dick about it. Get the rest of the actors and relevent companions to come in and do their own voice work but render them at their peak. Different play styles for different doctors depending on whether they were more physical or cerebral. It could be brilliant.

Xbox 360-owning Doctor Who fan, so as you can imagine, I'm pretty bloody annoyed about all this exclusivity crap. I never have, and never will, buy a console just for one, specific games - no matter how much I may want the game. If I had that sort of money, I'd have also bought a 3DS for Resident Evil Revelations.

Could be good but needs a bit of Amy Pond in there.
    (MMmmmm Karen Gillan...)

After seeing the trailer I'm not all that heartbroken about the possibility of never seeing it on PC. This game really does look like a high-res version of a game BBC would stick on the Doctor Who website.

Since Doctor Who is made by the BBC which is in turn funded by the UK Television watching public, shouldn't any spin off be available to all platforms?
