Skyrim mod replaces dragons with My Little Pony

Bethesda role-player gets custom horse business.

Enterprising Skyrim player "zdzichorowerzysta" has updated the PC version of Bethesda's popular role-player by replacing the game's dragons with a character from My Little Pony.

The "Pony Dragon Mod" replaces the look and feel of Skyrim's airborne enemies with popular pony character Fluttershy.

Skyrim mod website SkyrimNexus lists the add-on as being downloaded 416 times since its launch two days ago.

Does the game look better with Hasbro's forward-flying friendly foal? Two examples of the mod in action lie below.

Just felt compelled to detonate any tenuous credibility I might have had by griping that although those are Fluttershy's colours, that's clearly Rainbow Dash's hairstyle. Why didn't they just go with Rainbow Dash? The mod would have been at least 20% cooler then.

Block access to it, forbid payment services (Visa/Paypal etc.) from working with it, stop global advertising networks from partnering with it etc.

Of course they say they will reserve this for sites whose primary purpose is piracy, but without the ability to mount a defence, who decides what those sites are?

I agree with you that this mod is silly but doesn't tarbrushing the entire modding and PC Gaming communities because of it's existence seems slightly OOT?

I mean I don't think every Xbox owner is a 12 year old with anger issues who thinks "gay" is a valid slur for anything they disagree with.

For every ridiculous mod like this which grabs the news headlines there's a heap of excellent mods quietly being worked away and put onto the Skyrim Nexus which can be brilliant. For example there's already multiple mods for making Dragons later in the game an actual challenge instead of the flapping wusses they currently are.

I'm hoping we'll see the fauna from Morrowind making an appearance too at some point.

Oh, and with regards to this mod, MLP and copyright Forbes have an interesting article (much more than this one, sorry Eurogamer) Here.

Hasbro show exactly how allowing fan-based copyright "infringement" can be an excellent thing from their point of view.

To be fair, that pretty much happened on day one. And I'm a big fan of consoles and play the PC version of Skyrim with a 360 pad.
