Star Wars: The Old Republic update 1.1 delayed

UPDATE: Servers are back online.

Update: The Star Wars: The Old Republic servers have, like The Jedi, returned.

"All SWTOR servers are once again available!" the official SWTOR Twitter account broadcast moments ago. "Thank you for your patience."

Original story: Star Wars: The Old Republic 1.1 update has been delayed, developer BioWare has announced.

The Rise of the Rakghouls expansion was meant to go live yesterday but failed to appear. A note on the game's community site explained why.

"Because we care about ensuring that Star Wars: The Old Republic provides you with a consistent and quality game play experience, we will be postponing weekly maintenance this week," read the post.

"Downtime was originally scheduled for Tuesday, January 17th, 2012 from 2AM CST to 10AM CST and will now occur at a later date due to issues requiring additional testing that have been discovered with the Game Update 1.1 content on the Public Test Server."

The post added that the update should arrive "within the next few days". Scheduled maintenance to prepare for the update took place earlier this morning.
