Green and blue? surely these colours do not exist in the Gears of War universe?

And based on what theyve done thus far these will be free for all 3-4 weeks from now

So are these for horde or competitive or what? Any chance of some actual news EG?

@homerramone They won't be according to one of Epic's developers on Twitter, there's even a separate playlist without the Fenix Rising maps.

@bratmandu They're for Versus, Horde and Beast.

Escalation brings back memories, The Slab looks awesome too.

The maps are great, really nice additions. I wish they had a playlist for these alone though, can't believe they don't.

Some of the weapon spawns are strange - one map has two smoke grenades, another has 5 frag spawns. They are absolutely beautiful though. Have a look out the window on Depths!

@duckmouth They're thinking about a seperate playlist but I think they're worried it would seperate the community too much, which sort of happened with Gears 2.

why not have system where everyone gets to download the maps. But only the people who have paid for them get xp? That way everyone could see what they are like from the get go.

I would've thought most people playing online still now would be on season pass anyway...

So I've checked out Academy, Escalation and Anvil so far. Escalation bit disappointed with, they've kept the same layout and stuff but it all looks too light and airy, not dark and graveyard-like. Anvil looks fun, quite a decent size with opportunities for flanking and cover-fire. However, pick of the bunch so far for me is Academy, typical Gears map; symmetrical map with three power weapons in a row with opportunity for classic rush and flanking manouvres (Gridlock anyone?) - looks like the action will be fast and furious on that one, can't wait.
