New Gran Turismo 5 DLC announced

Additional car pack and test track due next week.

A fresh batch of Gran Turismo 5 DLC rolls out of Sony's garage on 18th January, the platform holder has announced.

Car Pack 3 features six new cars to get to grips with - the Lamborghini Aventador, Jaguar XJR9, Aston Martin V12 Vantage 2011, VW 1200 1966, Mini Countryman S 2011 and Nissan Leaf. It will set you back €5.99 or your regional equivalent.

A separate Speed Test Pack offers a new oval test track and a performance measurement mode which lets you compare stats and data for all your vehicles. That's priced at €4.99.

On top of the new DLC, title update 2.03 will also go live on the 18th, which makes various undisclosed enhancements and adds new theme colours and wallpapers.

All this new content comes quick on the heals of last month's Car Pack 2 and update 2.02.

    Talk about supporting your product.
    Bethesda should take notice..

Took them a while to start with the DLC but it's coming in piles now that they've got around to it.

Good to see Sony/Polyphony continue to support GT5. Not that there's any reason not to, the amount of money they must make from the DLC

I want to get back into this game, but I'm missing a few updates and my PS3's HD is dwindling on space. The moment I get my HD upgraded, I'm getting into this game again and getting a lot of DLC. Not going to say all. By the time I upgrade my HD, I bet there'll be a hell of a lot more DLC out,

I'd play GT5 a lot more if I could be arsed to get my wheel out.

Need one of those Fanatec Renn-Sport Wheel Stands instead of dodgy keyboard table from Argos.

I hope this gets included on the edition that's released on Jan 17.

I really wish Forza DLC would include a track every now and then as well. New cars are fine but there are already sooo many in the game that it's really hard to justify getting DLC when you haven't even touched 90% of what you already have at your disposal.

Wow! Very impressive car pack. Definitely getting this once it hits. GT5 is the only game so far where I would buy every single DLC that comes out.

Great! I'm really looking forward to the first three cars in that pack - I just hope they don't turn out to be among the many in GT5 that disappoint terribly in the engine sound department (so far the DLC cars have been pretty good though).

The whole game, when it came out, would cost you about £40 for over 1,000 cars, yet it's going to cost about £5 for an extra 6 cars. How does that work?

Do people still play gt5?
  • cheeky_BILLY #15 4 months ago

    Me want an Ariel Atom.

@Dr Buckles - as an indication, i did one of this week's new Drift Trials, about 8 hours after it's released, i got a gold, and my high score was ranked somewhere in the 21 000's. So yes, a lot of people are still playing the shit out of this game.

Anyway, i'm so glad this has since been confirmed, when the rumours were first posted on GTplanet i was so worried that it might have been a hoax. Looking forward to the Beetle especially, and this pack really bodes well for the quality of upcoming DLC's.
