Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D release date

Circle Pad-enabled port Marching in.

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D will sneak onto 3DS on 8th March in Europe, Konami has announced.

Snake Eater 3D is an update of PS2 classic Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

The game comes with refreshed visuals and will be the second 3DS game in Europe to support the Circle Pad Pro expansion, which adds an extra slider pad to the handheld. The peripheral launches first with Resident Evil: Revelations on 27th January.

Konami has also added a first-person mode and a new over the shoulder camera, both missing from the original, as well as gyroscopic controls for traversing rope bridges.

You can even take photos of your surroundings to customise Snake's in-game camouflage.

A demo version of the stealth shooter was one of the first games shown for the 3DS at its unveiling at E3 2010. A special snake skin-themed 3DS was teased by Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima earlier this month.

If it wasn't for the HD collection coming out on 360 in March I think I would have been using this release as an excuse to pick up a 3DS.

Richardiox-i can't reply to you directly because that stupid black bar at the bottom of the page gets in the way

HD collection is currently 3rd February, unless Konami delay it again

I hope it's better than the version I played at the EG Expo...it desperately needed the circle pad.

Is it defintaely the 8th as that's a Thursday?

Anyway, March is looking like a great month for me. SSX, Mass Effect 3, Resident Evil: ORC, Kid Icarus Uprising, this and my birthday!

I'm guessing this will be the same price as the HD collection, I'll give it a miss I think. I still own this for PS2 and never got around to finishing it.

Too bad they didn't add the option for the MGS4/PW style controls to the HD version. By the sounds of it, this version is decidedly hit and miss so the upgrades seem a bit wasted on it.

Think I'll just stick with getting the HD collection........but still good news for those who don't have a PS3 or 360 though!

I'm very tempted by this, I know that the HD collection will be the same price but I've already played 2 and Peace Walker to death, but missed 3 as I'd traded in my PS2 for an original XBOX. With this in 3d and portable it might take the edge.
