Amy release date announced

Flashback creator's survival horror out next week.

Amy, a survival horror title supervised by Flashback creator Paul Cuisset, launches on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade on 11th January, developer Lexis Numérique has announced.

It'll set you back £7.99/€9.99/800 Microsoft Points.

Set in a post-apocalyptic America where a virus outbreak has transformed the human race into flesh-hungry feral beasts, the story follows a woman attempting to survive the carnage with the help of the titular eight year old who's blessed with a set of mysterious powers.

See below for some new character art and a gameplay trailer.

Excellent! Hopefully more quality survival horror this year...
  • captain_Carl #2 5 months ago

Watch it fail to show on PSN!
  • ZuluHero #3 5 months ago

That's a good price point. Looking forward to this!

I want Flashback out on XBLA/PSN
  • MatMan562 #5 5 months ago

Managed to keep away from hearing too much about this so i'm looking forward to it!
I think I already have the money on my PSN Account so i'll probably get it on the day... providing it shows

Never heard of this before! But very interested now. There really isn't enough proper survival horror these days, so this should hopefully do the job nicely until Silent Hill: Downpour finally gets released.
  • bad09 #8 5 months ago

Can't wait for this, looks like a really interesting survival horror to fill the gaping hole yawnfest resident shooter and increasingly crap silent hills have left in recent years.

So does the PC version hit on the 11th to then? Not to bothered if it doesn't come at the same time though, I have such a backlog right now it's actually a bit of a blessing if it is late as I really wasn't expecting this so soon! :)
  • FredD #9 5 months ago

@bad09 No word on the PC version I'm afraid.
  • BearFishPie #10 5 months ago

Flashback was loaded with atmosphere, so I've high hopes for this'n. It's a little strange to see both Eric Chahi and Paul Cuisset jumping back into the limelight after so long. A GOOD THING.

For some reason I thought this was PSN only, so very happy to see it coming on XBLA, and at 800msp to boot!

Will wait for reviews, but could well be a future purchase.

Nice to see a 'proper' survival horror rather than an action game masquerading as as one.
  • bad09 #12 5 months ago

    @FredD

Yeah I had a google for it and their facebook page (yuck facebook!) says it should be a couple of months after the consoles (now there is a surprise!).

Still like I said no biggie for me I got Skyrim and countless others to get through at the mo so as excited about this I am it can be forgotten about until spring.
  • Kami #13 5 months ago

    Well, that was... sudden.

Will still buy it though. Need more Survival Horror.
  • Daeltaja #14 5 months ago

Survival Horror may make a comeback this year, with Amy and a new Silent Hill.

Great price point, shocked it's not priced at 1200.
  • AntiRad #15 5 months ago

Where did this come from?! I'd not heard anything about it and, suddenly, it's done and coming out in a week?! O_o

Looks fabulous though - and that's a great price point.

Looking forward to hearing and seeing more within the next week.
  • TONYgr #16 5 months ago

    For european PSN too???
  • Videogamer. #17 5 months ago

    I adore Flashback!

    Color me stoked. :)
  • madjim #18 5 months ago

Cuisset is a legend. As a result, day 1 purchase!
  • Chazmeister #19 5 months ago

"where a virus outbreak has transformed the human race into flesh-hungry feral beasts"

You mean zombies. It's another zombie game isn't it.
  • martlev #20 5 months ago

This had passed by me till now. Apparantly it was meant to have a fall release last year. Having read the site and seen the first trailer I am very much tempted to grab it despite having Skyrim and other games to finish.
  • Bulbatron #21 5 months ago

This looks good. There aren't as many horror games around as I'd like these days - especially on Xbox 360, so it's usually nice when a new one comes along.
  • beatwolf #22 5 months ago

As a survival horror fan, I´ve been looking forward to this. Will be getting it day one. 2012 looking good for horror / survival horror ! yay!
  • MeBrains #23 5 months ago

the last survival horror I played was resident evil, silent hill and "D"... might get this one...

question to you guys: if I would want to buy a full release survival horror game for ps3, which one should I buy?
  • Sunyavadin #24 5 months ago

Damn you, former Delphine guys! You found my weakness! Things with my name on them!
  • Mister-Wario #25 5 months ago

Hey, I'd forgotten about this game! But it looks really good.
  • chessboxer #26 5 months ago

There is a PC version, it just doesn't have a release date. It will be launched months after the PSN/XBLA release.

If the reviews are good, I will pick this up next week. Would be awesome if there was a PS+ discount too.
  • -cerberus- #27 5 months ago

@MeBrains: Siren Blood Curse, lad. Europe got a Blu Ray version.
  • Murton #28 5 months ago

Was starting to worry that this wouldn't release, was supposed to be out last year but evidently slipped.

With a firm date published I'm reasonably confident that this won't be yet another title that SCEE fail at cert and block the release of (where were SCEE's cert teams when Skyrim was submitted without proper EFIGS support?)
  • Triggerhappytel #29 5 months ago

Been following this game for a while, so I'm glad it's getting released so soon. However, the total lack of hype makes me a little concerned - here's hoping for a demo.
  • kingmancheng #30 5 months ago

Oh dear God, why have I not heard of this? And from the creator of Flashback too! Looking forward to it!

Also second on richarddavies' wish for Flashback on the XBLA/PSN.

awaits the -UPDATE Amy to cost 1200 msp- story in the next few days
  • DanWhitehead #32 5 months ago

Slightly distracted by the voiceover guy on that video. Keep expecting him to say "Isn't that right, Zach?" and go off on a tangent about coffee or old VHS horror movies.
