Battlefield 3 Physical Warfare Pack out now on PS3

Pre-order incentive now open to all.

PlayStation 3 users can now download Battlefield 3's Physical Warfare pack free of charge, DICE has announced.

Previously only available as a pre-order extra, the pack includes instant access to the powerful DAO-12 shotgun for those who haven't unlocked it already, a custom flechette ammo for the DAO-12, a flash suppressor for the SKS sniper rifle, and the Type 88 Light Machine Gun.

PC and Xbox 360 patrons will be able to get hold of it "at a later date",according to a post on the official Battlefield blog.

The pack caused a fair bit of consternation when first announced as a pre-order incentive, with fans threatening a boycott on grounds that gave some players an unfair advantage.

The DAO-12 is a beast, actually got kicked and banned from a server after using that to get about 9 kills in about 15 seconds (OK, they were facing the other way)

But the Type 88 (rubbish accuracy) and the SKS (piss-weak) seemed really poor to me, couldn't get on with them at all. Everyone will have better guns than those already.

@arcam Err... the SKS is amazing. I admit, when I first started using it, I wasn't impressed. Top tip though - don't use a scope. It's WAY better, just using ironsights. And it's really powerful.

Slightly off topic but am I the only one who is mourning the dearly departed spawn beacon?
It has completely changed the game. No more plonking it down somewhere handy and respawning on it endlessly as a different class. Makes me sad.

Hmm, really? Intriguing! I do think it sucks as a sniper rifle, but I will definitely give it ago without the scope. I'm generally a big fan of mid-range semi-auto rifles...

@arcam Oh, you'll definitely love it then! As you say, treat it like a mid-range semi-auto and it's great.

I was using the T-UGs and SKS to great effect defending on Gulf of Oman last night!

It was a pre-order incentive only available from a particular retailer. I got the PS3 L.E. on launch day but didn't get this pack until yesterday. On the brighter side, the game only cost me �17.99 thanks to a decent Zavvi pre-order deal.

Guys guys guys! The SKS is already in the game, infact it's the starting weapon as a Russian sniper, the Physical warfare pack includes a flash suppressor attatchment for the SKS not the gun instelf.
