    Vanquish meets Ninja Gaiden - if they get the mix right, it should be a blinder.

    I'm not trolling here, but the reaction by the Metal Gear fanboys (and i use that term knowing that some of my mates describe themselves as such) has been hilarious.

    The game was never supposed to be related to the stealthy shenanigans of MGS.

    @conners, +1 sir.

    REvengeance?

    Really?

    That's an utterly, utterly terrible name. Why not just call it Metal Gear: Rising? Still removes the 'Solid' baggage but retains its Metal Gear identity. Revengeance is just a subtitle for subtitle's sake.

    These are just shots from the trailer.

    Screenshots make it look better than the trailer did - it was way too cheesy and made me lose all interest in it. It'll take something amazing to get me to change my mind now.

    I like to imagine Kojima was sitting in his office one afternoon, poring over design documents for a revenge-themed Metal Gear, and finding it just wasn't coming together, while a Platinum Games designer in an office across the street was working on a pitch for a game about vengeance that just seemed to be lacking a certain something... each man takes a thoughtful look out of his office window, and for a moment their eyes meet across the busy road...

    @FuzzyDuck It was however meant to link MGS2 to MGS4 through Raiden's story. As it is now, the only reason it seems to exist at all is for Konami to squeeze some more revenue out of the Metal Gear name. The fact that Kojima intended to cancel it should speak volumes about what he thought even its original form could add to the series.

    Credit where it's due though, I don't doubt Platinum's ability to make a good game. I just find the attempts at flogging a dead horse extremely cynical.

    The process I had to go through to play MGS4 online was simply wrong. I hope they fix that kind of stuff in this new game!

    Metal Gear Vanquish? Looks sick anyhow.

    There's a petition out there to have this game cancelled because some MGS fans don't like the look of it. Well BOO BLOODY HOO!

    Man up and sign my petition to NOT cancel Metal Gear Rising: Revengence! Or I'll tell your mum you were naughty!

    Or just do it for shits and giggles. Either way is good for me.

    Terrible title, Revengeance sounds like a parody of the shitty sequel subtitle beginning with "R" fad - Revenge, Retribution, Requiem, Revelations or, for computer/technology based films, Reloaded.
    The game will be decent enough I'd imagine, MGS fans need to unbunch their panties and realise it's not a numbered sequel...and that the numbered sequels are riddled with problems and not exactly perfect either. A convoluted and long-winded nonsense of a lore that has even Resident Evil's "story" pointing and laughing.
    20 minute cut scenes?? That's just bloody stupid.
