Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies announced for iOS

Activision has announced a new iOS Call of Duty spin-off titled Black Ops Zombies.

Due out on the App Store tomorrow as a Ł4.99 universal app, it's a scaled down version of Treyarch's Zombie Mode featuring the Kino der Toten map from Black Ops and 50 levels of Dead-Ops Arcade.

According to Joystiq, there's four-way multiplayer with voice chat, and more maps, features and upgrades are planned post-launch.

It's the second outing for the undead Call of Duty spin-off, following the launch of Call of Duty: Zombies last year.

Given the rage on Metacritic "Black Ops Zombies" applies to anyone who bought MW3, though clearly anyone expressing the opinion that "it's just the same game again! LOL" is totally *not a zombie in any way whatsoever*.

The idea is sound and I'd never thought about voice chat on iOS games but, if it's do-able, great.

The only stumbling point is no controller to play it on! Can't be dealing with a touch screen FPS or dual stick shooter.

I suppose the Vita theoretically should be able to do this sort of game but will it be able to do voice chat?

@simsini The more popular OS has so many different spec'd phones there are probably less that are actually capable of running it than iOS phones. Not only that coding to take in all the qwerks for all those different models and testing must surely take much longer, hence they typically release on iOS first.
