DC Universe DLC expansion announced

Lightning Strikes focuses on The Flash.

A second DLC expansion for superhero MMO DC Universe Online goes live later this year, Sony Online Entertainment has announced.

Titled Lightning Strikes, the pack adds Electricity Powers - the game's eighth power set - and a new adventure starring The Flash.

There's also a new Central City map, new gear and new characters, including Livewire, Black Lightning, The Top, The Trickster and Static.

The add-on is free to Legendary members but will cost Premium and Free players $9.99.

"In this DLC pack, fans have the opportunity to immerse themselves in another great character and action-packed story from the DC Universe," commented creative director Jens Andersen.

"With exciting gameplay, a new power set and new locations to share with your friends, we packed a whole new kind of fun into this DLC pack and are eager for our players to dive into another legendary adventure."

    Unfortunately due to the massive number of games still on my hard disk and needing to be played and the fact of the number of new games i've had to buy in the last few weeks meant that i had to remove something... was enjoying the game, but with limited time and 15GB space being used... unfortunately it was the logical thing to go.

    Shame as i was enjoying the game, though lag was a bit bad (probably due to lots of people playing it)... still was quite impressed by it. Hopefully when i have cleared some space i will download it again.

    I was on the DCUO wagon on the ps3, right from the start, and i have to say; it was a mess!
    Bad lag, bad quing times, bad bugs, and i stuck with it, bur not much changed..
    After the initial six month, i gave up, to much was still broken, and there was nothing fit my top tier characters to do, so eventualy i quit..

    Now it sounds like they are getting back on track, and i will be happy to be a paying customer again, if the next few add-ons, comes nice and steady...

    My heroes made superman look like a boy scout.. oh wait.. he allready was.. ehm...

    I'm assuming the introduction of Flash will bring with it a massive universe reboot with every player being taken back to level one, everybody getting a hip edgy new version of their costume and all the female characters becoming braindead half-nude sex objects?

    Little DC humour there. I'm here all week. Try the steak.

    @DyingAtheist

    Heh, nice dig at the new 52 there :-)

    Im still gutted that Marvel Universe Online was cancelled. Apparently its being redone as a kid-friendly f2p mmo, which diesnt fill me with hope. How do the words "kid friendly" mesh with homicidal maniacs like Wolverine, Venom and Winter Soldier?
