XCOM release delayed

Take-Two dodges Mass Effect 3 launch.

The XCOM reboot will not make its planned March release date, publisher Take-Two has announced.

The 2K Marin-developed title will now ship at some point between 1st April 2011 and 31st March 2013, according to a revised release schedule released with Take-Two's quarterly financial report earlier today.

No reason for the delay was given, though the hold-up does mean that the game no longer goes head-to-head with BioWare's Mass Effect 3 on 9th March.
