EU PlayStation Store update 19th October

GT5 and Deus Ex DLC! Worms! Okabu!

A fresh payload of Gran Turismo 5 content headlines this week's PlayStation Store update.

Priced £9.49 (or £7.19 for PlayStation Plus members), the Complete Pack includes new cars, courses, paint jobs and car gear, all also available separately.

There's a healthy offering of new games on offer too, including bullet hell shmup Beat Hazard Ultra, Worms Crazy Golf and cute but disappointing Okabu.

PlayStation 3 gamers get the Deus Ex: Human Revolution side-story The Missing Link, available yesterday on Xbox 360 and PC, while Batman: Arkham City's Catwoman mission pack is also unleashed ahead of the main game's launch this Friday.

There's a music-themed sale on Guitar Hero and DJ Hero content for all, while PlayStation Plus subscribers can enjoy a saving of 60 per cent on Under Siege for the next two weeks, 20 per cent off Worms: Crazy Golf for two weeks and 20 per cent off Okabu and Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken for one week.

Yet again, there's still no sign of the continually delayed Mortal Kombat: Arcade Kollection.

Payday The Heist, which was set to be the free game offered to those who bought all the games in the PSN Play promotion, is also absent.

The full listing, courtesy of the EU PlayStation blog, lies below.

Speedball 2 Evolution!? Elevator Action Deluxe!?!?!?

Who cares about rubbish DLC?! Your priorities are strange Eurogamer.

    ;)

Is it just me or has there been a dearth of decent downloadable games/DLC recently? Lots of "full fat" games - but not so much else. :(

Good. I'm sick of the number of must-play games coming out at the minute! Surely better for small devs to put their downloadable games out during that March-August period when everyone isn't being drowned in great retail releases. Putting a small PSN/XBLA title up now, however good it may be, against FIFA, Batman, CoD et al is suicidal.

    Payday demo on US PSN.
  • ligurmatic #5 7 months ago

I got Speedball 2 Evolution for the iPhone and despite the control difficulties (due to my inability to accurately control virtual sticks) I'm sure there's a fun game in there so I shall be getting that and GT5's track pack.

Why the frack would I want to pay an extra 10 euros to get a DLC for a game that is NOT EVEN RELEASED YET (Batman)? FFS how stupid do you think we are? Was it soooo hard to include it in the game? Yet another game that I wont be buying. Hope those extra 10 euros were worth losing the money you would have received from me buying your game.

@Sutorcen the dlc is free for people who buy the game new, it only costs for people who buy used copies. If you were planning to buy a used copy, I dont think they'll care about you passing on it as they wouldnt get the money from it anyway.
  • jefranklin18 #12 7 months ago

Potentially a stupid question but does anyone know if the GT5 dlc cars go straight into your garage if you buy it or do you have to then part with credits as well?
  • Doctor_What #13 7 months ago

That looks like a cheap week for me then. Good stuff, I've been spending too much on PSN lately anyway.
  • IronGiant #14 7 months ago

I downloaded speedball 2 hoping it would be as exciting as I remember from the Amiga days but alas it hasn't aged very well at all.
  • Eldritch #15 7 months ago

Fighting Force 2 is an instant buy for me.
  • [STARS]TyranT #16 7 months ago

FFS no Castlevania, HoD DLC. Which all shipped same day as the US version, and is all included in the game anyway. I've never known it so hard to give money I willingly want to give. The EU PSN is a complete and utter joke. Taking the EU gamer back to the dilemma of massive delays and similar shit.

Worms golf and Rocketbirds look really good, especially with the discount!
  • NinjaChimp #18 7 months ago

    @jefranklin18
The DLC cars appear as gift tickets, so you have to claim them all individually but don't need to part with any credits.

Also, thanks Sony for punishing my eagerness. Bought the DLC yesterday as soon as it was out and only now is there a PSN+ discount... :(

"Fighting Force 2 is an instant buy for me. "

    Really?
I'm a huge fan of the first game, its awesome dumb fun, but when I played Fighting Force 2 on the Dreamcast I remember finding it to be a distictly underwhelming and booring experience.

For all those people complaining about having no decent downloadable titles comming out have you checked our Rochard? I'm absolutely loving it at the moment
  • Mister-Wario #21 7 months ago

Is Worms Ultimate Mayhem still coming to PSN?
  • gm914 #22 7 months ago

    @Tom Phillips
    Get your act together man!

Last week you neglect to mention the best new IP of the week on offer, Sideway: NY.
This week, you neglect to mention to the best new IP of the week, Rocketbirds: Hardbolied Chicken.
    Not even a sentence!
Stop whining over Mortal Kombat and instead focus your energy on supporting NEW games and ideas and the indie devs that develop them.
Maybe get yourself a US account so you can play/trial this stuff before copy/pasting PS Blog articles...
    No offence, like.

so whats happened to our free socom demolition pack i have just looked on psn store the last time £3.99 was not free you said it yesterday about it yet its not on the list here but its on the store like i said EG should get their facts correct before they post anything
  • Ahskay #26 7 months ago

    lol @ Sutorcen

Been living under a rock the past weeks? It's an online pass and an extra, no problem with that. The supermarket deals are another story but that's not your problem. You only need to pay for Catwoman if you buy the game used.
  • Miths #27 7 months ago

I just played (most of) the Rocketbird trial. Great art style and despite being a side scrolling 2D game it looks pretty awesome in 3D.
However, after the initial on foot sections that made it feel like either an extremely easy game or one with a welcome gentle learning curve, I was ready to start tearing my hair out after my sixth death in the aerial combat section that followed. And I don't have any more hair left to tear out after that those fucking Dark Souls bosses :).
    I'll pass on this one.

Worms Crazy Golf looks tempting though, and so does the heavily discounted Under Siege on PSN+ (though I seem to remember some reviews describing that game as infuriatingly hard at times as well, so that might not be the best choice for me either).

I bought the GT5 DLC yesterday. Spa is great - of course - and so are most of the new cars.

Such a piss take that Payday Heist isn't on here! very dissapointed and annoyed as it was preordered ages ago and they only cancelled it the day before it was due to be released.
  • scorpius45 #29 7 months ago

Sony have said any Plus members that bought the GT dlc before the discount was put on the store will get refunded the difference, it just might take a bit of time for the refund to come through.
  • fatbob1080 #30 7 months ago

@Miths You suck at games. I didn't die in the whole of the rocket birds trial and I suck at games. Liked the demo though and looks very nice in 3d, may have to purchase that one.

Anyone know why the sideway demo isn't on the store any more?

Sonic is ace! Leaning towards pre ordering that instead of uncharted 3. It's a tough choice.

I've got a cat that keeps humping a stuffed toy monkey but he had his balls chopped off a year ago. Is this normal. Do they grow back?...
  • trubadman #31 7 months ago

Really disappointed that payday - the heist wasn't released. Anyway, downloaded the demo off the US store and it's amazing, seriously this will end up being one of the best games I have ever bought off PSN. Also disappointed by myself, basically I bought baconing and bloodrayne but not the other 2 games, because I didn't like renegade ops and wasn't too bothered about an old street fighter game. However, I just realised that because payday was £13 , if I'd bought the other 2 games I'd only have paid £3 more :(
