Gran Turismo 5 DLC detailed
Polyphony's spoiler pack introduces Spa.
Gran Turismo 5's first paid for downloadable content is coming nearly a year after the game first released - and it's bringing with it Belgium's famed Spa-Francorchamps circuit.
The downloadable content will be available in numerous packs, and while pricing's yet to be announced for UK the US official site reveals they cost between $1.99 and $7.99 when they launch next week, with the complete set coming in at $11.99.
A course pack introduces Spa's Francorchamps circuit, a legendary 4.352 mile run through the Ardennes forest that will be available in various weather conditions. A night-time kart track fills out the pack, which will be drivable in numerous configurations.
It's to be joined by a car pack which will bring with it a Red Bull X11 - a new iteration of the outlandish imagined car designed by Adrian Newey in the original game - and various currently unspecified others.
There's also a driver pack, which introduces new overalls and helmets for the player avatar, with several of them modeled after existing WRC and NASCAR outfits. Last and most certainly least is a paint pack that introduces 100 new colours to the game.
The downloadable content follows immediately in the wake of Gran Turismo 5 Spec 2.0, a free update that went live earlier today. It updates the physics, introduces a new, simplified cockpit view for standard cars and adds new photo modes among other things. We'll bring you fuller impressions in the near future.

Perhaps you should check out Rage. You can race cars with guns, rockets and shields. Sounds like the kind of racing you wish for. Incidentally, I'm not being sarcastic, Rage is an excellent game, but its racing is designed for people like yourself I believe.

Spa however is a fantastic race track, probably my personal No.2 after the Nordschleife, can't wait to have that one. I will spend many, many hours there.

Will be adding a new track to my list.

Yeah it would be great if other companies took 5+ years to make a game and still release said game broken and no where near complete and then spend the first year patching said game hoping to catch up to the competition's previous game released two years ago.
