Syphon Filter Vita in the works - report

Uncharted: Golden Abyss dev at the helm.

A new entry in Sony's tactical shooter franchise Syphon Filter is in the works for PlayStation Vita, according to The Official PlayStation Magazine.

As reported by PlayStation LifeStyle, it's apparently currently in development at SCE Bend, which is also currently working on Uncharted: Golden Abyss for Sony's handheld.

If true, it'll be the first release in the series since 2007's excellent PSP effort Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow, also developed by SCE Bend.

And it might not be the only impending outing for the series. Earlier this year, a purported leak claimed a new Syphon Filter is also PlayStation 3-bound.

Weird, I was only chatting with a friend the other day about how I'd love to see Syphon Filter make a come back as it was one of my favorite games on playsation. Brilliant news to see it's comming to Vita if true. The reason's to purchase a Vita just keep getting stronger and stronger imho.

Sony really seem to be doing everything right at the moment. Great hardware, great games, all of their best IPs. I expect they'll screw it up again at some point, but at the moment, I'm just loving everything I hear about PS Vita.

Now these games would be ace for PS3 re-releases, especially if they were mastered like the GOW Collection II was.

Actually I tend to buy from both sides. I'll buy a game if it looks good or appeals to me. If thats a new IP great am all for it but if thats an extension of a already established IP then thats great to. I buy games I like and am going to enjoy.

Am happy to take a gamble on a new IP as I have done several times and been pleasently surprised. Please dont taint us ALL with the same brush !
