PC Assassin's Creed: Revelations delayed

Out in December.

The PC version of Assassin's Creed: Revelations has been delayed, Eurogamer can reveal.

The PC version launches on 2nd December 2011. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions remain on track for launch on 15th November.

Eurogamer first heard that the PC version of the game was delayed back in July.

Today, we received confirmation from the Czech Ubisoft Facebook page (spotted by Eurogamer's Czech cousins Eurogamer.cz).

Ubisoft has a habit of delaying the launch of PC versions of its multiplatform games.

The PC versions of From Dust and Driver: San Francisco both launched after the console versions.

The PC version of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood launched in March 2011 after a November 2010 console release.

Eurogamer has contacted Ubisoft UK for comment.

    Didn't see this one coming lol, not to bad really since i'm still ploughing through ACB on PC.

    What does Ubisoft gain by announcing their games for release at the same time, and then later changing it? Why don't they just say it will be out later in the first place? Anyone?

    Any idea where to get the Animus book PC Edition?
    I can't find it anywhere.
    I could order the book alone but Ubi wants $30 shipping to Germany for a $30 book...

    @roz123

    Not sure if it happens with every Ubisoft PC game, but ye its happened with every Assassin's Creed game, so its not a surprise. If it does happen with every Ubisoft PC game, then I guess they just suck at making games for PC. Or its because they want to make sure the PC version is more polished than the other versions, I dunno.

    @Fatbobbybob

    Same :)

    This is just to geta few extra copies sold on the consoles. More money for them and a bit les piracy. This is why I'll only pick it up when its on a 66-75% sale on Steam and patched a few months later. I barely got to finish recently AC II. Not enough time for games. Specially that many good games. Ubi can keep updating their DRM for all I care :)

    Eurogamer first heard that the PC version of the game was delayed back in July.

    Why didn't you tell us then?

    Anyway, December's a far better prospect (if you're interested inthe game, that is) than the usual March launch that these games get on PC.

    I wonder if Ubisoft have a special PR team for announcing PC delays...
  • unacomn #10 5 months ago

    Wait... it's less than half a year?! It's less than a month even!
    Egads, the apocalypse must be upon us!
  • WAusJackBauer #11 5 months ago

    I guess December isn't too bad. The other 3 games came out November for the consoles and March / April for PC.

    Also what is with Assassin's Creed Brotherhood? I bought it on steam and every time I play the game it says uplay (or something, can't remember exactly) is updating. Fatbobbybob, does this happen to you?
  • Trinod #12 5 months ago

    its probably due to piracy on the PC...gamers are impatient,less piracy on console...if you really want to play, you will have to buy...or wait to pirate on Pc later tdown the road...

    ...just a theory

    ..i see Batman is the same thing now
  • arcam #13 5 months ago

    @Trinod, davisorle

    If that's true, Ubi would know they are going to do that long ago. Why announce a simultaneous release, then delay it later?
  • davisorle #14 5 months ago

    @arcam

    " We wont be selling the PC version to make you buy the console version/avoid piracy" Now that coming from Ubi thats constantly be fucking up with their DRM and generally their PC versions of their IPs would be more stupid of them than the DRM itself :)
  • PenguinJim #15 5 months ago

    Two weeks is hardly a problem. With most publishers that would make it playable at the same time as the PS3 version after all the installing/updating, and the 360 version after getting your 360 back from MS.

    Sadly, with Ubisoft, you can add a further few days/weeks until their DRM server is can handle people wanting to play the PC game they've bought.

    Don't boycott Ubisoft. Just don't buy their games until you've cleared your backlogs. ;)

    @cianchristopher: Wesley probably wanted to do some proper fact checking before writing an article abou.... PAHAHAHA!

    Sorry couldn't keep a straight face while trying to say that.

    Not this bad this time apparently... At least it will still be released this year, instead of six months after the console versions. Unexpected but Ubisoft managed to surprise me this time.

    Lol, thats not fun anymore.

  • WukWhiteWolf #22 5 months ago

    If anything it's only 17 days (I think it's a record for Ubi PC game). Better than ACB's 4 month delay.
  • BloodSaint #23 5 months ago

    Why am I not suprised?
    Driver: San Fracisco, From DUst, Call of Juarez: The Cartel, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, etc. have all been delayed for PC.
  • X201 #24 5 months ago

    Dingo

    It's an UbiStore exclusive.
  • azic #25 5 months ago

    @Trinod
    Why do you insist on saying PC gamers will have to pirate it later?
    Honestly Its getting so out of hand this notion that PC gamers pirate all the games they play.

    The vast majority buy their games! Steam Origin etc.

    I'm really starting to think that twats like you are either jealous of PC gamers, or just such fuck tards that you don't even know what your talking about!

    I mean you come on and just say it like there are never any PC games bought.

    How much piracy goes on with consoles! It's very easy to pick on the PC, but xbox and PS3 are having the same shit, but nobody says anything because it will encourage more of it, and it's harder to remedy.

    Your buying into comments from the likes CliffyB who blames PC piracy to cover the fact Epic sold out and abandoned the PC in favour of the consoles. He is a twat too for the record.

    Most people buy games, yes it is rampant but you have to look at the fact that so is DVD piracy, as is console piracy.

    You would also be surprised just how many people are running modded consoles and are playing on PSN Live right now.

    @azic

    I dunno, I'd say most PC gamers pirate their games. They only don't for cheap, quality games like Portal 2. Although Assassin's Creed is exactly that, so this might be an exception.
  • azic #27 5 months ago

    @WAusJackBauer Proof please.. And why would you say this?EA just spent a lot of money making Origin.. Activation have gone mad with MW3 on steam...Why do this, and why are these platforms working, and why are said companies putting money into this then... I'll tell you why..... Because the overwhelming vast majority of PC GAMERS pay for their games... Perhaps you don't... Who knows eh?

    @azic

    Gabe Newell recently said Portal 2 sold more on PC than it did on consoles.
