    These are both out on Xbox as well, Not surere how much the explosive mission pack is as I already have it so it costs a 'tick' as far as I know. The Tactical advancment pack is bundled with the Explosive pack as a seperate download for 320msp. cant get just the tactical pack on its own which seems like a waste

    If you are thorough and stealthy then there's no way to physically spend all the money you can find anyway.

    I had about 35,000 credits left at the end of the game and I'd fully upgraded the tranquilizer rifle and Plasma Rifle and bought every possible praxis kit from all the shops, inc return journeys to Detriot and Hengsha and the slightly hidden LIMB clinic on Panchea.

    Oh wow, please can I pay some money for some new weapons and some in game credit. Here in fact, take my wallet.

    Yes I know the packs are cheap and all but what next.... this is ALMOST as bad as paying for some weapon skins in gears 3!!!! Almost...

    How long is that mission where you save Tracer Tong, and do you get any new cutscenes?
  • damagedinc #5 8 months ago

    mission isnt long at all...with cloak prob able to complete in fifteen min.

    @damageinc

    I never found any fun in cloaking though. I did have fun trying to remain physically unseen, and then snapping some necks.

    On PC you can download a file (20 meg or so) then enables the debug menu in game. From here you can do all sorts of things like give yourself the pre-order weapons even if you didn't pre-order or buy this DLC. I've taken a look and for a second playthrough it has alot of options to mess about and have fun with. More interesting for me at least is the inventory mod (another 20 meg file) that shrinks the size of most game items so you can actually carry more than 3 things at a time.

    I think cloaking is largely a time saver. If you take the time to monitor the enemies patrol routes and take care you don't need to use it. For me its main purpose is netting a bit more xp than usual. In my current game outside of boss battles I've taken down all but 2 enemies with non lethal takedowns to maximise xp. With the cloak and silent running theres alot of opportunities to get a double takedown on chatting enemies before they split up. Without the cloak this is often hard to achieve without losing your ghost bonus. This is pretty much all I use cloak for. Silent running on the other hand is far more useful on a regular basis but again is largely a time saver.

    Backpack Mod

    Both mods may fail to work following a patch. Last patch affected the backpack mod but not the debug one. However the guys maintaining these mods are very quick to update so far.

    Cheers mate, modded it will try out later.

    At one time, if you wanted extra cash in a game, you entered a cheatcode. Now, you pay £1.19 for the privilege instead.

    Cynical, moi?

    ok, so I pre-ordered the game early through Steam, and I got the more expensive augmented edition. Yet I still don't have any of this supposed pre-order stuff? I'm supposed to pay extra a second time?

    Ugggghhh I fucking hate what the industry has become. Anyone who defends this in the slightest is a total idiot.

    "Pay-to-Win" pack.
  • Rack #17 8 months ago

    Can you gain access to the Tong mission via the debug menu?
  • Necanthrope #18 8 months ago

    @Nikanoru

    If you pre-ordered you have this content already so I'm not sure what your upset about. This DLC is purely for those that didn't pre-order but still want the extra fluff. I bought my copy from Shopto put the code provided into Steam and immediately had the content. Some of it you have to wait for as its only accessible later in game but most of it gets added to your backpack at the start of the first mission.

    @Ptarmigandalf

    Its definately not a "pay to win pack". On my current paythrough I've just made it to Tai Yong Medical which is what 60% of the way through the game? I've bought every Praxis kit available and the entire stock of every shop (apart from the guns) and have over 70k credits so the extra 10k is neither here nor there. As I'm on a non-lethal melee playthrough I've not used any of the dlc guns / explosives either. As mentioned above its a bit of extra fluff. It adds some variety but doesn't make much pratical difference. In fact the dlc explosive is inferior to regular mines and the weapons have very limited upgrade possibilities.

    @Rack

    If I recall correctly the bonus mission can't be accessed via the debug menu. It primary uses are to spawn items and change a whole host of game parameters like unlimited energy or no stamina drain etc. Hence why I'm not using it althought infinite stamina for my trips to the shop to sell 10 Uzi's is tempting!

    That Tracer Tong mission is one of the weakest in the game, and the character is surprisingly uninteresting, given his importance in Deus Ex. But the grenade launcher is something of a plus if you can't stand the last few boss battles.
  • sabbede #20 8 months ago

    I would like to meet Tracer Tong though.... I could see spending three bucks (US) for that for my next playthrough.

    Necanthrope: I paid for and preloaded the game through steam before release, and I didn't get it, despite paying extra for the augmented edition.
