Super Mario Land 3 coming to 3DS eShop

First Wario Land title lined up for release.

Looks like the third and final installment in the Game Boy's Super Mario Land series is on its way to the 3DS eShop.

As reported by GoNintendo, Nintendo today filed an Australian ratings board listing for Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3.

Released back in 1994, it doesn't actually feature Nintendo's famous plumber in any significant capacity, instead putting Wario - his cackling, flatulent opposite - centre stage for the first time.

If memory serves correctly, it's a rather fine little platformer.

Its immediate predecessor, Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, is up for download from tomorrow, priced at £3.50.

Forgive me, but is it really beyond the realm of possibility to release more than one title at a time?

Also, this was one of my first gigs! So much jumping....good times.

Judging by the content of piracy sites, yes, yes it is.

They merely mean to tell you what to buy and when.

edit : also you need a 180€ console to play them, nevermind your dishwasher could probably run them.

Great, great game. Bought this on release. Played it to death in order to get all the treasures. Anyone who hasn't played needs to buy this as soon as they can.

A great game indeed, though I always preferred Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins to it. If I'm honest though, it's been so long since I've played either that I couldn't say if my preference was due to SML2 being better, or because it was the first Mario game I owned and that I played it a lot more.

I played this one extensively too, even earning the best castle possible. That took quite a while to add up all the gold necessary for that one. The ending was quite funny from what I remember. Wario had a neat range of hats too, way ahead of his time.

I always liked the Jet Hat the most. But, this game has a very nice soundtrack, and top-notch visual character. I particularly liked the running elbow barge Wario gained as his signature attack here, and the character animation, it's presented really well. An impressive way to build the Wario character from his cameo in SML2. 100% recommendation from me to take advantage of the opportunity to play it, if you haven't. I'd still encourage play of the Six Golden Coins, but it doesn't (although it is memorable) show the lastability that Warioland does.

Bloody good game and probably the best Wario title there's ever been. Treasure hunting never felt so fun.

Excellent game, and the best Mario Land game IMO. Did have an odd difficultly curve though when I played it as a 10 year old, the first world boss seemed to be the most difficult thing in the game!

I was thinking about this only yesterday when I heard Mario Land 2 was coming. Wario Land was amazing.
