Final Fantasy 13-2 DLC confirmed

Costumes, monsters and weapons planned.

Square Enix will release downloadable content for upcoming Japanese role-playing game Final Fantasy 13-2, the company has confirmed.

Square Enix is making downloadable costumes, monsters and weapons, producer Yoshinori Kitase said at the Tokyo Game Show (reported by Siliconera).

Some DLC will be reserved for pre-order bonuses.

Square Enix did not release any downloadable content for Final Fantasy 13, which launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 last year.

"Regarding the DLC content, we feel that the final product is 100 per cent enjoyable... it's the complete package. So we're not planning any DLC at this time," Kitase said.

I'll inevitable pick this up when I get the game, just adds value to what is no doubt an already huge game as it is.

DLC needs to feel more organic, like it was made after release to add what people really want from consumer feedback and or stats tracking, when its planned in advance it just feels to cynical and generally end up being a bit poo.

Also i cant imagine announcing DLC before release does anything other than damage sales, i cant imagine theres a single person out there that thinks "hmm im not buying this unless i know theres going to be DLC someday"

So FFXIII was the complete package, but this isn't? Anyway, say what you like about the Wii's online capabilities, but at least it means that Xenoblade doesn't leave you feeling a bit sour by all this DLC nonsense. All the costumes, weapons and monsters are in the game.

And tell me now SE, why shouldn't I think that all I get are unlock keys for the stuff that is already on the disc?!

    shikashiI!

Give me Lightning swimsuit and i'll forget about that.... xD

Guess i will just wait for the game of year version. Or wait for the game to drop to around £10 so I can get all the game and DLC for around £20.

I still cant believe they are even bothering to release a sequel to a game (I wont call it an RPG, because it sure as fuck wasnt one) that has single handedly killed one of gamings great franchises for the majority of its oldest fans. I hope this game crashes and burns, then hopefully Square will wake up from this nightmare they seem to be in where they only make Final Fantasy games that involve you running in a straight line while listening to whining children and teenagers for a very, very long time.

And they want people to buy DLC for this sequel? Fucking LOL.

DLC made before release is called a rip-off. I don't care about people comming and telling us "but it's off budget, bla bla bla..."
They cut up the butgets just as the cut up the games.

This doesn't make sense at all.

Right so if thats your statement for Final Fantasy 13 then are you making DLC for Versus 13 because it won't be 100% enjoyable and won't be the complete package. Hope they are looking at Xenogears for a influence rather than the monotonous straight line of a game that 13 was.

But nobody will be able to download the DLC because their 'A/X' button will be mangled from all the monotonous button bashing...

I almost bought some DLC for magic the gathering the other day until noticed it said it didn't contain any new content, only cards that were already available by playing the game. With things like that and the level skip bird in Angry Birds, you're paying for the game, then paying extra for what are effectively cheats that mean you don't have to play it.

^Is that some of the content (and pricing) for the DLC?
