Super Monkey Ball Vita announced

Swinging into shops in early 2012.

SEGA has announced Super Monkey Ball for PlayStation Vita.

It's coming early 2012 (when Vita launches here) and has been designed specifically for Sony's new machine.

That means that both analogue sticks are put to use, as are the front and back touch controls. Presumably you'll be tilting the beast as well.

Super Monkey Ball brings new worlds, mini-games, extra-super-cuddly graphics and even four-player multiplayer. Monkey Target returns, alongside some undisclosed and apparently "exciting" new additions.

Brilliant news; now any chance you can also make a great version for PS3 & 360 this gen?

With all the Monkeyball main game of Super Monkeyball 1(on GC), and all the 4 player split monkey target of Super Monkeyball 2 & banana blitz.

    That'll do, Sega. That'll do.

Coming roughly a generation too late...congratulations Vita (PSP2) owners. A marvelous game (both 1 & 2) on Gamecube with that stunning joypad nestled in your hand fitting like a glove. I'm sure this the Vita version will be perfectly playable but for anyone smart enough to have owned a Gamecube - and its plethora of AAA games - it all feels a little stale now.

Seems the Vita is getting a LOT of support around launch. If they keep the games coming it will do well, especially after the 3DS launch debacle

LOL spacedelete what brought that on?

How come @spacedelete? Do I have it wrong? Is this not a game which has while at first been charming and fun not feeling a little "last gen" as it stands on what Vita's "hardcore" (LOL) owners been dreaming? It is pure hypocrisy that the same people who still mock the Wii/Gamecube now feel happy to be given what owners said machines been playing for what feels like a decade now. I'm a fan of Nintendo but can easily admit when it falters/flops...3DS, Mario Sunshine, Twilight Princess and obviously the Virtua Boy for example. I wonder however can others do the same over Sony/Microsoft products...Move, Kinect, PSP, etc etc...
