Nintendo launches 3DS Ambassador tool

Nintendo has launched a tool for European gamers who missed the 3DS Ambassador programme deadline to register for the scheme.
To initially register, gamers simply had to connect to the 3DS eShop before the 12th August price drop kicked in.
Nintendo's new 3DS Ambassador tool asks gamers for their 3DS serial number, found on the base of their console.
From there, gamers who registered an online friend code before 12th August but did not connect to the eShop can enter the code to gain access to the programme and its complimentary offerings of games.
Alternatively, those who bought the 3DS before 12th August but did not connect it online at all must provide a scan of their 3DS purchase receipt.
Upload that, along with your name and email address, and Nintendo will peruse your submittal in due course.
The 3DS Ambassador scheme rewards early adopters who bought the 3DS before Nintendo's massive price-drop. Nintendo is spoiling members with 10 free NES games - including Super Mario Bros. and the original Legend of Zelda. 10 free Game Boy Advance games will also arrive by the end of the year.
The system is far from infallible however - seemingly there is nothing to stop gamers who bought the system after it became cheaper simply using a friend's 3DS receipt from before 12th August to take part.
