Street Fighter XBLA Colour Pack borked
Capcom asks gamers to contact support.
Yesterday's 'Colour Pack 1' add-on for Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online is broken on Xbox Live Arcade, Capcom has admitted.
The DLC pack, also released on PlayStation Network, allows gamers to palette swap characters' costumes. It costs 240 MSP (just over £2).
The pack contained incorrect files, Capcom said. "We are working diligently to get the revised DLC up on the Marketplace. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused."
Once back online, gamers must contact Capcom customer services to obtain a redeem code for the working version.
The company has asked affected gamers to get in contact via the support page of its online store.
Capcom has an array of Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online DLC planned, including a set of music packs, more colour packs and extra match packs.
Gamers can already pay to unlock dipswitches and unlock the character Gill (80MSP each).
Eurogamer's Simon Parkin rated the game itself well worth a purchase - scoring it a knockout 9/10 in our Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online review.

We have to call you now to get a code? Fix it yourself you lousy money thieves. Just re-up that pack and redownload it I'd say. Can't even get a couple of overpriced colors right.

Who said these are about rewarding fan loyalty? Rewarding fan stupidity more like.

(Other than a decent alternative name for someone who spent £2 on making the streetfighter characters a different colour)
Edit: In case anyone else doesn't know what a dipswitch is in Streetfighter, here's a forum post about it: [link url=http://uk.gamespot.com/ps3/action/street-fighter-iii-third-strike-online-edition/show_msgs.php?pid=630107&topic_id=m-1-60112237

Not something it makes any sense to charge for IMO, just like different colours.

It's something that should be in the game. And it costs Capcom fuck all to produce, so why charge for it?
It's ludicrous.

I tend to think that's some kind of applied darwinism.

Keep in mind BFBC2 also had SPECTACT DLC for guns/skins.
Capcom done goofed nonetheless for the 'skins' though, considering the Dreamcast and Xbox/PS2 Anniversary Edition of SF3:3S had these 'skins' in.

Neither are value for money, but Arc really took the piss.

The real problem is the people who buy it. If I ran Capcom and found I could make money by doing a few pallete swaps then I'd do it too. I really can't forgive the people who buy them, though. If they stopped then all this would just go away.
EDIT: Negged?! OK, fine, it is all just Capcom's fault then. They're making you download it.

Possibly derived from a word used repeatedly by the Swedish Chef of the Muppets. In various skits, the Chef often repeats the phrase bork, bork, bork. The word may refer to the often-failed experiments in the Chef's cooking adventures.
I'm hoping to see a resurgence of the use of the word "Borked" in relation to videogame mistakes

How did Capcom AND Microsoft both miss this?
