Gran Turismo 5 patch 1.11 released

Brings NASCAR Seasonal Event.

    That'll be Jeff Gordon? Who's Jeff Brown?
  • kiroquai #3 9 months ago

    By Jeff Brown do you mean Jeff Gordon?

    In any case, I am off to race F1 2010 against Jenson Blue, Sebastian Violet and Michael Silver ;-).

    Because you're obssessed with the former Labour leader and prime minister - your true political bias shows through in every article, you pinko leftie!

    What's that then? 10 or 11 patches and GT5 is still not the game it should of been :(

    Roll on GT6 no amount of fixing GT5 will get it at the level it should of been.

    Big content update to come around Forza release.

    MS need to take note and not charge for every piece of content. It won't hurt to give to fans

    Haha... Jeff Brown.

    I don't remember Microsoft charging for Demo's. Some of you guys seem to have forgotten about 'Gran Turismo 5 Prologue'.
  • obidanshinobi #14 9 months ago

    @gribb

    Shall I finish your sentence for you ?

    All of the content updates for GT5 have been free, whereas Forza...was released as a finished game and therefore didn't need a load of updates to finally complete it.

    I've downloaded loads of free cars for Forza 3 off Live without needing any codes etc.
    Look up the term "straw man".

    The_Programmer: I don't remember Microsoft charging for Demo's. Some of you guys seem to have forgotten about 'Gran Turismo 5 Prologue'.

    Prologue is way to big to be considered a demo.

    I also assume you don't remember GT HD Concept ? Which is also arguably too many hours of play (with online timetrial boards/ghost downloads) to be considered just a demo, and that was free.

    As for the update; this sounds good. The Special events using Jeff Gordon are really good on the Logitech wheel/pedals like the arcade cabinet of Sega's Daytona.

    Only the other day my Uncle& Father(who don't game or watch motorsport ) were trying some GT5 that I setup for them, and were really enjoying the Nascar specials after the go-karting and getting quite competitive.

    Really need to make more time, for some GT5's licenses, but the PES 2012 demo training has been very addictive and I've only just started playing MGS4 for the second time in anticipation of the HD release of Snake Eater.

    To those negging me and UkHardcore23.

    Have you guys never played GT 1, 2, 3, 4 ?
    Gran Turismo 5 is such a slap in the face for those, like me, who loved and grew up with the GT series.
    When GT1 came out it redefined the genre, it was amazingly good, and when GT3 came out on the Playstation 2 it slaughtered everything else is sight with its brilliance.
    You have no ideas how much i was looking forward to GT5, Forza 2 and 3 were good stop gaps but the GT series had captured my heart from an early age so I couldn't wait for GT5.
    What a F**king disappoitment, I liked the game (would prob rate it 7.5/10) but it should of been a 10/10 game and should of lasted more than the 2 weeks I had it for before I got fed up with it and traded it in.
    And what have they done with Trial Mountain ? It looks worse in GT5 than it does in GT4 (not that it looks bad in GT4)
    Biggest disappoitment of this generation IMO.
    Good for you if you love GT5, I'm jealous of you, but having grown up with and loved the GT series I just feel that GT5 is a slap in the face.

    Forza pisses all over GT in every respect.
  • obidanshinobi #18 9 months ago

    @DoctorFraud

    Forza 3 doesn't just shame GT5, it fucking embarrasses it.
    The previous GT games shamed all other driving games on release though.
    How Polyphony have fallen !!
  • NotSoSlim #19 9 months ago

    Forza vs GT pissing contest who would have thought it.
  • betrayerofhope #20 9 months ago

    lol

    look at all these insecure forza fanboys desperately trashing GT. They know full well that GT is on another planet. No amount of drawing paint on your cars or hearing jezza drone on about cars will change that.

    The day forza has the ability to change it's weather and time on a hallowed track like the ring would be the day forza would have the right to step into the ring.

    Until then, keep on hating coz that's all you got. Hate won't bring GT's success. Copying won't bring GT's success. GT is a brand. Forza is just another sim.

    Did they not have enough Skylines already?
  • jetsetwillie #22 9 months ago

    @UKHardcore23

    for GT5 to be what it needs to be it needs to be on the PC.

    the PS3 just cannot hand PD's ambition
  • SuperBas #23 9 months ago

    For ducks sake, why not put in some interesting cars instead?
  • dfua #24 9 months ago

    These aren't new cars unfortunately, they're just existing ones now available in the Online Car Dealership.

    Fucking losers
  • dfua #26 9 months ago

    @The-Jack-Burton
    Both Forza 2 and 3 ran at 60 fps, if anything GT5 has the greater issues with framerate and tearing.

    They are both great games but GT5 feels like it could and should have been a lot better. These updates have gone a long way to rectifying that but it's still underwhelming in some areas.
  • Marshall2008 #27 9 months ago

    It's a shame that the menu structure and graphic flaws haven't been fixed. Ever the letdown. RIP GT 5
  • Cardboardbox #28 9 months ago

    I'd rather they updated some of the standard cars to premium. Oh well, at least their fixing things and adding some new stuff.
  • azic #29 9 months ago

    If you want a Sim play rFactor/GTR2/Race 07/ live for speed on the PC... They don't have the graphics of the console games/sims but they are better as far as sims go, and some of the mods are amazing.

    Last F1 season they were using one of the above sims in the pit lane!

  • Frankie_Lee #30 9 months ago

    Gran Turismo Formula? Is that the F1 car that was in GT2? Awesome car that was.
