Persona 3 Portable PSN date, price

Great PSP RPG for £24 soon.

The digital PSN release of Persona 3 Portable will happen on 7th September, Ghostlight has announced.

For the first two weeks on sale, the price will be £24/€30. After that, the price will be £28/€35.

Persona 3 Portable was released on UMD in April. Eurogamer wrote a Persona 3 Portable review back then.

"It all adds up to what's just about the definitive version of one of the finest role-players of the last five years," wrote reviewer Chris Schilling. "If Persona 3's central story doesn't quite live up to the intriguing murder-mystery of its successor - and the loss of the animated story sequences exacerbates this issue - then its side-stories are easily a match.

"Until Persona 4 Portable arrives, then, this may well be the finest RPG you can get on PSP, and a game that'll keep completists going until well into the winter months."

The score? A tell-your-neighbours 9/10.

Bought it on the US PSN store months ago and am still playing through it. The thing that always concerns me when there's as big a delay between different regions is the sales numbers. People who really want Persona 3 on their PSP already bought it on the US store months ago with ebay bought points cards. Now, if the sales figures are poor, Sony may assume there's no market for such games.

Indeed a fine game on any platform.
One of my fonder memories of good games before this gen ruined gaming.

£24's not too bad, seeing as the UMD still costs £25+

    Greatest PSP game to date.

This game has always been one of those "maybe" games for me. It's a real shame that the Summer drought of games is coming to an end or this might have been bought. I could always treat myself to it on Vita though especially as my memory stick is already groaning under the weight of a couple of Final Fantasies and Phantasy Star.

Still my favourite RPG ever, and the PSP version felt different enough from the console game to feel like a fresh experience all over again. Would've been cool if they redid Persona 4 in such a fashion, but that seems unlikely with the Vita so close.

Nice. I waited for the Digital version as I can see myself still playing it on Vita in 2012. Now I hope Innocent Sin follows.

It's great, but the simplifications they made make the story harder to follow, especially the ending. I was glad I played the original on PS2 first.

Words cannot express how much I loved this game. Fuck the last boss though..right in the ear!

Anyone have any idea if you can download for free if you own it? Got about 25 hours in before my PSP stopped reading UMDs :(

I bought US store too, as simply wasn't prepared to wait for an indefinite release, also do work out cheaper often compared to European Store.

As it say on that Zavvi.com ad it's £22.85 for the retail version & that one is the collectors edition their selling so other then being able to play the digital version on the vita which I'm sure isn't going to make it look any better then it does on my psp 3000 is there any other reason to pay extra for the digital version if you have a working psp?

I don't plan on getting rid of my psp 3000 when I get the vita & the only reason I can up with for me to get the digital version is the vita looks like it's more comfortable to hold plus the analog sticks.

I'm currently renting this & I want to buy it now but I'm not sure what version I should buy, also I need to know if I can use my saves from the hard copy on the digital version so I know whether there is any point playing any more of it before I send this rental back or I should wait in case I got the digital version & have to start a new game.
