Treyarch making Modern Warfare 3 Wii
Black Ops dev announces new project.
Call of Duty: Black Ops creator Treyarch is developing the recently revealed Wii version of Modern Warfare 3.
"The Wii has grown so much as a platform," Infinity Ward's creative strategist Robert Bowling told One of Swords. "The great thing is Treyarch proved that you can have an awesome experience on the Wii with Call of Duty. They'll actually be handling that for Modern Warfare 3."
The veteran Call of Duty studio has plenty of experience working on the Nintendo console. It picked up Wii development duties for Infinity Ward's first Modern Warfare and created Wii versions of its own World at War and Black Ops.
The existence of a Modern Warfare 3 for Wii first came to light earlier this week. Company exec Eric Hirshberg told investors Activision had decided a version for Nintendo fans was necessary "so as not to leave any of the community out of the excitement".
Activision plans to launch Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for Wii alongside its PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 brothers on 8th November.

Making a CoD for the Wii is bound to be humbling experience, which they deserve.

They also for some reason Black Ops made it so you need 5 players for a match to start in every game mode (except FFA) and a lot of the time I have 4 people in a lobby and we're just sitting there waiting for a 5th player to join and it takes ages cus there's not many players in Australia. Then when I email Treyarch and post on the forums and tell them to change it to 4 like it was in the other games, it doesn't get changed.
I wish they could I dunno, grab some people from Nintendo to help with development because there's no one better at optimizing games for the Wii than Nintendo.

Is that number really significant enough to make a Wii port of MW3?

Because that is the stuff dreams are made of.

In my opinion, people that own all 3 consoles (or a Wii + 360 or a Wii + PS3) should at least give the Wii version a try. The only things that let the Wii version down are.
Framerate: Its 30 frames per second instead of 60, which is a major letdown considering it uses a pointer to aim. It also drops to 20 - 25 frames when there's a lot going on
Graphics: Only a biggie for people that care about graphics, but if you play on the right TV (26" - 32" 1366 x 768 TV) then it can still look decent.
Internet: Because of the Wii's crap internet components, there's some extra lag and hit detection wont be as good. In CoD WaW and CoD4 you had to shoot in front of people when they were walking or running, but in Black Ops they made big improvements, its fairly close to the 360 / PS3. So hopefully they'll make more improvements in MW3
Otherwise, the improvement in gameplay because of the controls are really worth a try. I own the PC version of Black Ops and I still hop on the Wii version from time to time, the controls just make it fun.
EDIT: I have no idea how the bold code works on eurogamer!

Edited to speak the truth.

Not literally, but what I mean is shouldn't it not take long at all to implement the controls into a new game since its already done?
