Fruit Ninja dev reveals next game

It's called Machine Gun Jetpack.

Fruit Ninja developer Halfbrick Studios has announced its next project - an iPhone and iPad game named Machine Gun Jetpack.

It's a fast-paced survival platformer and the latest title to feature lovably stubbly Halfbrick hero Barry Steakfries.

Players control Machine Gun Jetpack with just one touch. It activates a machine gun strapped to Steakfries' back, causing him to hover and allowing him to navigate the game's many obstacles.

Eurogamer's mobile game guru Kristan Reed doled out a 5/10 for Halfbrick's Fruit Ninja but a more recent 6/10 for previous Steakfries outing Age of Zombies. XBLA platformer Raskulls fared better still, winning high praise and a 9/10.

Machine Gun Jetpack will land on the App Store later this year. In the meantime, Halfbrick's Kinect Arcade port of Fruit Ninja launches on XBLA next Wednesday.
