Lord of Rings War in North release date

Promising action-RPG in November.

Action role-playing game The Lord of the Rings: War in the North will be released in November, Warner Bros. has announced.

This bloody, limb-loosing game takes a trio of adventures - human, dwarf, elf - on an adventure parallel to that made famous by Tolkein's book and Peter Jackson's films.

You'll head north to the snowy lands of Gunabad and face the forces of arch-villain Agandur, Sauron's "crulest ally", according to the LOTR: War in the North website.

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance dev Snowblind is at the helm, crafting a loot-happy action-RPG that relies heaviliy on co-op, either with AI bots, friends in the same room or friends online.

Lord of the Rings: War in the North was announced in March 2010, and so appears to have had a healthy amount of development time.

Within the RPG genre this offers something different to Skryim, but if you have to buy just one RPG, then I believe this will suffer.

Nevertheless, keep your eyes peeled on EG this afternoon for some more War in the North information.

Snowblind have a great pedigree in this genre (esp from a co-op perspective) so fingers crossed this is up to snuff!

Yay will pick this up for xmas I reckon. Skyrim will take over November at least.

Don't see a situation in which I won't buy this. It's a bit later than I hoped though.

Whoevers bright idea this was might have just doomed this to a flop. As good as it looks it won't hold a candle to Skyrim for the RPG fans, SR2, AC:R and MW2 will fill the other spots for those unlucky enough to be able to only afford one game this November.

I have a feeling that come spring, we may feel this would have done better as a XBLA game.

@Tryhard-'All these great games incoming.I feel like a fat kid with a sweet tooth, locked overnight in a sweet shop.'

that's funny because i wont be able to afford all of them so,i feel like a fat kid with a sweet tooth outside of the sweet shop pressing his nose against the window

Absolutely nothing decent to play at the moment and then we get 20 triple AAA games in October/November....crazy.

As much as I am looking forward to this (love dark alliance 1 & 2) and its one of the few games the missus will play, releasing it in november is a bit daft. Oh well no doubt I will be able to pick it up for £18 in February instead.

Too many november releases, need to prioritise

Uncharted 3 - day one, no question
Skyrim - depends on post release support, if bethesda intend to make DLC and patches exclusive to 360 as they did with Oblivion and Fallout 3, then I'll wait
Assassins Creed - depends on cash
Saints Row - likely day one as more of my co-op mates will be buying this than LOTR
LOTR - wanted day one, but won't be able to afford alongside everything else

On the other hand, I now know what I'll be asking for for Christmas.
