Crytek working on new FPS IP – report

Plus, abandoned Redemption shooter outed.

Crysis 2 developer Crytek is hard at work on a brand new FPS franchise, according to a developer CV.

The LinkedIn profile of a gameplay programmer at the studio, spotted by eagle-eyed Tweeter Superannuation, mentions work carried out on a "new IP, shooter genre, TBA title for Xbox360, PS3 and PC".

The same CV also mentions another FPS project – also a new IP – that he worked on for six months before the title was cancelled.

A separate developer CV flagged up by Superannuation, this one from a technical artist, also lists a cancelled Crytek title called Redemption – possibly one and the same.

The only confirmed title the developer currently has in the works is Kinect action title Ryse, although recent speculation pointed to an imminent Timesplitters 4 announcement.

eagle-eyed Tweeter Superannuation really needs to find something better to do with his/her (but I'm betting on "his";) time than reading linkedin profiles of programmers working on defunct software projects. Eurogamer should probably also find something better to do with their time than reading the tweets of same. I should find something better to do with my time than reading rehashed news about tweets about linkedin profiles about people that are irrelevant to me...ain't the world great!

Hey Eurogamer - every time I go to read your comments section, I wade through the crap Chinese shopping spam. I don't have that problem anywhere else - maybe you could do something about it.

Isn't there a CAPCHA thing in place for user registrations?

Anyway, on topic, also hoping for TS4.

Fucking spam! And what makes it worse is that Eurogamer's crap Ignore option rarely works.

Saying that, I am intrigued to know what a 'puma slipper woman' is....

Crytek can just fuck right off. They release buggy, half finished titles - which would be forgivable if they eventual fixed them - but they don't. Their community support is fucking horrible and if I were you I'd stick to renting their future output.

Another beautiful looking shite game in the making. Shipped with plenty of bugs and a host of pc gamers wetting themselves about the inferiority of console gamers and wanking over their rigs. Can't wait.

and a host of pc gamers wetting themselves about the inferiority of console gamers and wanking over their rigs

With posts like yours, who can blame us?

Look, I'll prove the other part:

Crytek can just fuck right off.

Hope most console gamers share that view so the next installment won't be hobbled by old console tech and feels like a predecessor rather like a sequel.

IF it is on cryengine then you can count me out for any sort of MP fps ... twice burnt twice shy of that shovel-ware.
