If you pre-order Stronghold 3 on Steam you'll get 10-year-old Stronghold 1 thrown in for free.

You'll also get a Tower of London map free for Stronghold 3.

The strategical castle building and castle defence game costs Ł29.99 on Steam.

Stronghold 3 is due for release this autumn.

Stronghold 1 arrived in 2001, the year the Wikipedia launched, according to Wikipedia.

Thankfully Eurogamer existed back then, and so it was our duty to appraise Stronghold 1. Then-editor John "Gestalt" Bye reviewed Stronghold and awarded 6/10.

SH3 will always be Silent Hunter 3 for me (which is dirst cheap on Steam nowadays).

6/10??! I thought that game was awesome. Nothing else quite like it. So much fun in the campaign and the map editor was fantastic.

6/10 was the old 9/10 I guess. And SH3 is Silent Hill 3, nothing else.

stronghold was great, and i really enjoyed the sequel, despite it being a bit rough round the edges.

Yeah the original was brilliant... got them all about three times on various platforms.

Playing Stronghold Kingdoms right now which is alot of fun... cant wait for this.
