Statue, art book, early access to DLC.

In the US, the Batman: Arkham City Collector's Edition includes a premium statue, an art book, Gotham Knight animated material and early access to DLC.

That's according to various US shops, including Best Buy and GameStop (as spotted by Joystiq). It's available to pre-order and will be sold for just under $100.

According to Best Buy: "This exclusive Collector's Edition brings the Caped Crusader to life in a whole new way with a premium statue, a beautifully designed art book, Gotham Knight animated content, early access to digital add-on content and more."

  • Collector's Edition includes a premium statue, an art book, Gotham Knight animated content, early access to digital add-on content and more
  • Premium statue is produced by Kotobukiya to bring the excitement of the game into the real world
  • Flip through the pages of a brilliantly illustrated art book to soak up all the Arkham City content available
  • Get a jump on the competition when you receive exclusive access to add-on content before anyone else
  • Gotham Knight animated content brings the story to life

When will the UK Collector's Edition be announced? Soon, we've heard.

In the US, those who purchase the game at Best Buy get two bonus Challenge maps for use with playable character Robin. Warner is yet to announce UK-specific pre-order bonuses.

I'm actually hoping this Collector's Edition is fairly pants, as I don't want to have to spend a fortune on another lump of plastic.

    And yet... it's BATMAN!!!!

    /is weak

Hope the DLC will be similar to the Arkham Asylum DLC, in other words it's free and just adds a few challenge rooms, rather than holding back proper game content to sell on later.

After the Happy Meal quality of the Arkham Asylum CE, I won't be touching this one.

That extra content (from the DLC) should be on the disc not on a voucher.

    Screw 0day DLC.

Kotobukiya make some incredible statues, I always wanted their Spiderman vs Venom statue. Too expensive though.

Presumably the Gotham Knight "animated content" is just going to be arkham-asylum-focussed excerpt from the Blu Ray compilation set in the nolan universe?

what is the point of all these collectors editions with their useless tat! I would love to speak to some of the mugs who bought the super duper fancy deluxe black ops / killzone 3 sets for £150 , only to see them in hmv a few months later for about £30 !

"killzone 3 sets for £150 , only to see them in hmv a few months later for about £30 !"

As far as the Killzone 3 Helghast Edition was concerned, you'd have to be pretty thick not to see that one coming a mile off.

I'd love to get this Batman edition, but I can't. Not with the Assassin's Creed Revelations collectors edition and Skyrim pretty much straight after. Sorry Bats, you'll have to wait, we're not all as rich as you are ;)

"Parents! If you think your kid might be interested in Batman: Arkham City, get them to check it out on Megaton.co.uk, our gaming site for kids."

Really? After all the articles on EG about making it the parents' responsibility to keep violent videogames out of the hands of their children? Really?

Despite being stupidly overpriced the helmet in the Helghast edition looked awesome, I wouldn't pay more than £10 for it though

so tired of all you assholes dissing collectors editions. If don't like it, don't buy it and get off your fucking high horses!! Go and spend your money on pints or whatever it is you do.

The Arkham Asylum CE was appalling, borderline fraud. They put out these pictures of a beautiful looking set, and then we got a paper book, and a plastic batarang that looked nothing like their advertising shots. They can fucking do one this time.

Is the AA CE no good then? I didn't have a console at the time, so didn't get it, but have been looking occasionally on eBay, seeing if it's worth getting. Yay or Nay?
