Final Fantasy XIII-2 out in January

Lightning strikes twice.

RPG sequel Final Fantasy XIII-2 arrives in US stores in January for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, just a month after its Japanese launch, publisher Square Enix has revealed.

The announcement, made via Square's Twitter feed, doesn't mention whether the same goes for Europe but we're chasing confirmation now.

For more on the follow-up to the audience-splitting 2009 original, check out our recent Final Fantasy XIII-2 preview or, better yet, pop down to the Eurogamer Expo in September and try it out for yourself.
