Battlefield 3: first Battlelog images
EA's answer to Call of Duty: Elite revealed.
On the day the Call of Duty: Elite beta goes live the first images of EA's Battlefield 3 Battlelog have surfaced on the internet. Fancy that.
Images appeared on EA's German Battlefield page, but were quickly removed - not before Battlefieldo grabbed a few screenshots and popped them live. Check them out below.
Battlelog is inspired by Autolog, the stat-tracking and socially proficient feature that debuted in Criterion's Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit last year.
It has built-in chat, Facebook style social networking features and a nice clean interface.
Battlelog is also EA's answer to Call of Duty: Elite, but unlike Elite it does not include an optional premium subscription.

As long as they don't charge for it...

Either way, no chance of me ever paying for something like this and if the free version is gimped then I won't visit the site and EA will miss out on all that potential advertising crap to throw at me.
EDIT: Oops, seems like they are not charging. Goody!

KDR doesn't mean shit when you are actually doing the objectives to win your team the round (in my experience). Mine is shitty too, but my W/L ratio certainly isn't.

companies that offer non essential services can only be as 'greedy' as consumers allow so if enough people choose to pay for a premium service then it was obviously a good business move by that company.
personally i will have a look at what this service offers and base my decision on that rather then moan and feign disgust.
BTW it's COD offering charged subscription

I hope not, because the unofficial ones always seem to work a hell of a lot better / update more regularly than EA's shite version.

My stats are tip top, KD and WL both in the green. Shocked to see my highest scoring class, by some margin, was wookie.

'It's EA's answer to Call of Duty: Elite'????
Hang on a sec...the Battlefield series has had a fantastic online stat tracking site to for years.
It's Call of Duty that's playing catch-up, not the other way around.

Exactly how are EA behind in the stat tracking compared to Activision?

Nothing more annoying than the never ending "updating stats" box.

...This kinda of online stat tracking stuff has been around since the Battlefield 2 days
