EU PlayStation Store update 29th June

Fear 3 online modes now available to all.

Gamers with second-hand copies of the PlayStation 3 version of Fear 3 now have the ability to access all the game's multiplayer modes.

This week's EU PSN Store update adds Fear 3's multiplayer unlock code, priced £3.19.

Fresh versions of the game come with the code included. Those with used copies must pay to play online options 'F**king Run!' and 'Soul Survivor'.

Mourning the lack of new Call of Duty DLC? Perhaps new Crysis 2 map pack Decimation will go some way to satisfying your blood lust. For £7.99 you get five new levels and two extra weapons.

Other add-ons include two new packs of DiRT 3 tracks and Gymkhana events to burn through, with a sprinkling of extra Trophies to collect. The Mini Gymkhana Special Pack costs £1.25, while the Monte Carlo Track Pack will set you back £6.29.

Middling twin-stick mech shooter Gatling Gears (5/10) joins Atari's Star Raiders and Dungeon Hunter: Alliance in being available for trialing and unlocking.

None of that take your fancy? Sony's massive PSN Loves DLC Sale is still ongoing. A huge list of add-ons are going cheap for titles such as Modern Warfare 2, GTA 4, Assassin's Creed 2 and Red Dead Redemption.

Here's this week's full listing, courtesy of the EU PlayStation blog.

    Motor Toon Grand Prix is one of my favorite games on playstation 1 :)
  • Murton #2 11 months ago

    "This week's EU PSN Store update adds Fear 3's multiplayer unlock code, priced £3.19." - if you're going to do online pass, this is the price point to do it at. £8 is just stupid and kills online communities as soon as the next MP game comes out and the early adopters move on.

    Rest of the update is pretty good, will be grabbing Dungeon Hunter and Gatling Gear demos to see if I fancy either one.
  • BBIAJ #3 11 months ago

    I'm not seeing the Dungeon Hunter: Alliance trial or Motor Toon GP, but then, EG have a habit of reporting on PSN stuff before it's gone live, so it's to be expected really.
  • BBIAJ #4 11 months ago

    @Murton:

    I'm pretty sure the F.3.A.R. Online Pass for the Xbox 360 is still 800 MSP.

    at last, have had my eyes on Dungeon hunter for a while, now its time to do something about it !

    @guillotine Nice trolling maybe something to do with PSN being down ,they cant put a game up if theres nothing to put it up on
  • FuzzyDuck #8 11 months ago

    @guillotine

    Yeah, because PS3 owners are crying out for quality exclusives and are constantly bemoaning Sony's continued focus on waggle control.

    Oh, wait...

    Of course, no-one spots the RPG gem in there - FFT: TWOTL for £7.99 (PSP only)
  • Murton #10 11 months ago

    Britannia's New Sock: pricing is done by the publishers, not Sony and those games came out during the outage so they're only just getting release now. I know you like to troll and since the loss of your CharlieChan account you have some catching up to do but at least try to get the details right when you do it.

    @ BBIAJ - 800 MSP you say? Perhaps this is some sort of apology for them messing up the original release, cheaper price on release with the intention of hiking it up later. Kinda pointless really seeing that if the game is any good the only pre-owned copies going so soon will be the ones that GAME and GameStation created themselves to try and drive sales (or that the staff have "borrowed or nicked codes from)
  • Murton #11 11 months ago

    Oh look, it's the head of the Eurogamer Sony Defence Force with the "the publishers set the price" (as they do on every other platform) excuse yet again. Keep supporting those high prices for old games boys.

    Erm, MS sets the pricing on XBLA, ask Team Meat, but be sure to be a little more tactful than usual, it's a sore subject for them.
  • FuzzyDuck #12 11 months ago

    No, seeing as you need to hop on every Sony thread going to extol the virtues of your console of choice, i'm merely drawing attention to "how wank" the Xbox, as a whole, has become in the last year.
  • Murton #13 11 months ago

    Shame that when the EG mods banned his last sock they didn't apply an IP or even MAC ban to get rid of the other accounts as well. Would have been nice if they'd done a proper job of cleaning up the comments section. Amateurs.
  • Kanselier #14 11 months ago

    Motor Toon Grand Prix 2 > the moaning, whining and bigotry going on in the comment section.
  • mumblyjoe #15 11 months ago

    Gief Sega Rally Arcade naow pls thnx

    @guillotine

    Spending your day attacking Sony in the same thread multiple times is definitely sadder, fair enough make your price comparison point, you never know you might actually save some multi platform owners a few pennies, but do it nicely and do it once. The rest is just spam and pathetic behaviour.
  • FuzzyDuck #18 11 months ago

    Can a mod please ban guillotine?

    He's clearly throwing personal abuse at Murton and i find it offensive.

    That's really not on.

    Telling the truth isn't, but stating

    "His name is Keith, he's a member of the Eurogamer Star Trek group, and he spends his days defending Sony on the Internet. Does it actually get any sadder than that?? HAHAHA!!!" clearly is abuse.

    And the fact that you've just made implications regarding my own and another user's sexuality is also personal abuse.

    In fact, if a moderator does come in here, in addition to banning britannia's new sock, actually putting a IP ban on him this time could they also fix the personal profile page so that if you remove information it actually does get removed. It's unfortunate that at the time I joined this this site you had to put this information in and unless you opt to hide everything you can't select which bits are public and which aren't. Unfortunately due ToolBritania and his latest sock I'm now going to have to hide my entire profile from everyone for the sake of one child.

    As for my "defending Sony" you'l find that I'm just as critical of Sony as anyone else, see some of my outage posts. Just because I correct errors and mistruths doesn't make a "fanboy" or a "paid shill" but trolling and baiting the way you are today certainly makes you a douchebag.

    "I've seen you dish it out as well" - I'm sure i'd have been flagged and banned a long time ago if that was the case. Examples please?

    I want to see you banned because i find you rude and offensive.

    We're all entitled to our own opinions and a good debate is always welcome, but you're behaving like a spoilt 12 year old.
  • Murton #22 11 months ago

    He's gone.

    EDIT: he was gone for a moment. All posts had been removed, but upon refreshing the page they're all back. Seems that even the moderator functions on this site are broken, get your shit together EG.

    EDIT 2: @ rockavitch - the ignore function is broken anyway so it wouldn't help. EG have been aware that it's broken for the better part of a year but nothing has happened yet. It's like this site is trapped back in 1998, it seriously needs some of its functionality looking at.

    Any chance EG can get this "guillotine" banned? I mean yeah I can just ignore him but that doesn't stop the whole topic being cluttered up with replies to him so it solves nothing.

    EDIT: Cheers whoever was responsible.

    Got to love Guillotine, the Eggsbawgs 360 gaming underclass at its very finest.
  • maximusfarticus #25 11 months ago

    37 posts in this topic and 10 of them are from guillotine.

    I think that confirms that he's charliechan.

    Ban him.
  • minimong #26 11 months ago

    @guillotine
    Way to make yourself sound like a little spoilt brat.I think everyone gets how much you have a boner for your xbox360 and I think everyone knows what a complete fool you are making of yourself.

    what a dick! this is how you get your kicks!? grow up kid
  • sfp_noodle #28 11 months ago

    @guillotine

    Hey idiot, check out my profile, its linked to my gamertag which makes it clear which is my preferred system of choice. But guess what? I love my PS3 too and for the past 2 years have chosen it over my 360 because it actually has games to play on it. The way you go on about slightly cheaper XBLA prices is pathetic. I'll happily pay a pound extra for a game I really want (you'd have to be a tight cunt if you didn't) but at the same time, multiple console owners like myself and even fellow PS3 owners at least have quality games to play. I doubt most even bother checking the PSN store since there's so much quality in actual shops.

    So go on, brand a user with 39,000+ gamerscore as a PS3 fanboy. I want to see how you offer an explanation to that. Dickhead.
  • brigadier #29 11 months ago

    Shame there isn't a 'being an utter tool' option as a reason for reporting a user. I think guillotine would get more than a few.
  • ollyn #30 11 months ago

    @Guillotine

    My god man you get around on these news forums (Just saw you getting wound up on another sony slanted topic). At one point you say Sony fan boys are really starting to amuse you. I'm betting that's not the case, they just seem to make you angrier and angrier. I have no real affiliation to Sony or Microsoft i have both console and think they are both fairly good. I would probably go so far as to say that the Blu-Ray and the fact PSN is free clinches it in Sony's favour but not by much (I also prefer move to Kinect but that starts a whole new flame war and might be because i liked Wii).

    But then again what skin is it off your nose that sony sells things more expensive on PSN, if it really angers you so much, direct your anger at sony not at other posters who are fairly happy with the Sony service. Unless you just like trolling which i suppose is your prerogative.
  • waggy79 #31 11 months ago

    So free must mean it's better? That's just a little retarded mate. Just sayin'.
  • ollyn #32 11 months ago

    I didn't say that. but I don't play enough online to really warrant paying out for it. So for me I reckon it's better, yes. For others maybe not but certainly for me. I said i prefer the Playstation over my xbox with one of the clinching reasons being able to play online for free. I made no reference to which service was better.

  • Mister-Wario #35 11 months ago

    Regarding the actual article, free Sacktue of Liberty? Yes please. I really liked the Mariachi costume that was up recently.
  • spookyzombie #36 11 months ago

    Nice to see FF Tactics up on the store, and at a good price too. Crisis Core next please.
  • Murton #37 11 months ago

    "So free must mean it's better? That's just a little retarded mate. Just sayin'." - not at all. Compare any two companies that offer the same level of service and the free one is automatically better. Everyone assumes that XBL is some awesome uber superpowered online gaming system and it just isn't, it's a match-making and leaderboard service. 360 users play over P2P just as much as PS3 users and when the publisher is using dedicated servers (very rare these days) it's the same on both platforms, just on one platform you have to pay for the privilege to access it.

    The only way in which the 360 "beats" PS3 online is in chat functions, having dashboard control on VOIP is extremely useful when you factor in people like guillotine questioning your sexuality in an overly loud and high pitched voice and cross game chat is nice if you want to chat with a friend who is playing a different game, but these aren't features that I consider to be worthy of a £40 price tag.
  • waggy79 #38 11 months ago

    Theres no reason whatsoever to pay £40 for starters, £25 is more the mark. Secondly the games on xbl are generally better than on psn, and youll get discounts/deals being a gold subscriber. The cross game/ party chat i find very useful and personally just the layout, style of the dash is much easier to navigate and nicer to look at. I certainly think its worth £2-3 quid a month, just as psn+ subscribers think its worthwhile to them.

    Hmmm Motor Toon GP has some lovely Goraud shading in, one of the best.

    Gran Turismo fans will always despise the fact that MTGP is an early skeleton of GT 1 on PS1!
