Ignition cancels WarDevil again - report
Widespread redundancies reported.
Long-in-development action title WarDevil has been cancelled for a second time, according to a Develop report.
Sources claimed that redundancies have been issued across Ignition's entire London-based studio and the game, recently re-dubbed Project Kane, has been tossed on the scrapheap.
However, it might be revived for a third time should an external developer show interest in taking it on.
On top of the London job losses, lay-offs are also reported at Ignition's Texas and Japan offices too.
WarDevil was first announced back in 2004 as an "Xbox 2" title. It was eventually cancelled back in 2010, but then resurrected as Project Kane and put on a fast-track for release later this year.
Take a look at the trailer below for a glimpse of what might have been.

But it doesn't look like there was much of a game to it.

Wardevil... the tech was great, but indeed, a game is something else: it requires a good engine, but also the ability to entertain the gamer, something that's not that easy. Still it would be a shame if all the assets created for this game as well as the tech would rot in a folder on some server...
