Better late than never, but hopefully this will be present at Crysis 3's launch.

Or some sections of a train station.
Or a sample of Times Square.....
Not even the biggest, bestest patch will elevate C2 to the level of Crysis ( technically ).
The original renders massive landscapes, the sequel is a corridor shooter.

WANT.
Does any other game do variable penumbras? "slighly lighter outline" shadows have always bugged me - more than hard edged ones.

Now only 2/3 of Crysis 2 owners are left screwed...I am sure that despite this now Crytek probably is still very proud or what have done!

Except for shadows and reflections, that makes for great gameplay.

pack for the A.I routines which are really, really
disappointing and affect more than anything else
the quality of the gameplay.
We have quad core CPUs and they remain unused.
What a pitty.

Off to download, and finally going to play Crysis 2.
Edit: patch 1.9 downloads on Steam, which is good news; now to get the graphics-n-stuff.

You're not alone.
We Cell users have six SPUs and they remain unused.

Crytek patch the game with envelope-pushing graphics: BOO HISS MY COMPUTER BLEW UP I CAN'T RUN THIS ON MAX SETTINGS WAA WAA

I bet it looks shit-hot with everything up on a high end machine.

It may be the 'placebo effect' talking - but the graphics really do look rather luscious now, don't they?
I was halfway through the game before installing the patch - now I actually feel as though I'm playing a PC GAME, rather than a high-end console game.
...it's still no Crysis 1 - but at least it now looks as GOOD as Crysis 1.

After deciding to have a little blast on it this evening the patch downloaded and now it doesn't crash anymore. So for anyone who has been experiencing crashes even once they had downloaded the latest drivers etc hopefully you need worry no more

I genuinely don't understand the hate for Crysis 2.
(With the exception of DX11 & lack of MOD support)
My two + year old rig could run it maxed out flawlessly & I thought the game was absolutely stunning.
And the game play was amazing too - Crytek have always offered open environments that encouraged diff tactics - Crysis 2 really wasn't that different essentially.
And yes, I've played the originals many times.

Not hate as such.
I've already had a rant on this so I'm not going to repeat it all (It's here if you really care: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-0... ).
But basically, show me where in Crysis 2 there's a level that's a follow on from the amazing "Assault" level in Crysis, and then we'll talk about how things haven't changed.

Runs amazingly smooth with all settings on ultra at 1080p, might get fraps reading my actual FPS figures.
