Gran Turismo 5 update 1.10 has been released on PlayStation Network.

The patch address "a few issues" and makes "a few simple improvements", wrote brand manager Penrose Tackie on the European PS blog.

Update 1.10 also adds online event prizes, easier part purchasing, better AI, racing gear, music tracks and a way to interrupt and save games during Championship mode.

You'll be prompted to download the patch when you load Gran Turismo 5 and connect to the internet.

GT5 has been one of those games that shows the benefits of the current model for console games. Polyphony have given spectacular support, adding new features and addressing issues since day one. I don't mind having to wait for the occassional update to download.

@MontyBrewster - To be fair to Codemasters, their games aren't released unfinished like GT5 was with its clumsy/clunky menus, inconsistent visuals (an ugly mix of excellent new PS3 and naff old PS2 models/textures), screen tearing, weak A.I., etc, etc. Hell, if anything GT5 needs *another* 10 patches to bring it up to scratch IMO. Keep it up, PD!

I still would like saves for endurance races, over anything else. Till then i refuse to do them in A Spec.

I'd missed hearing about the rash of patches... have any of these sped up menu navigation/cut out unnecessary garage visits etc? Found it exasperating on Prologue and a quick look at GT5 near launch indicated the same irritation was in place. Might get it if this end has been streamlined

I'm tempted to get this again (traded it in 2 weeks after launch) but I have to say GT5 is probably my "biggest gaming dissapointment ever" as I loved the previous GT games but GT5 should of been better than Forza 3 but it just wasn't.

What I would rate them -

GT1 - 10/10 Forza1 - never played
GT2 - 9/10 Forza 2 - 9/10
GT3 - 10/10 Forza 3 - 10/10
GT4 - 9/10
GT5 - 8/10 - fell out with it after I had spent ages grinding to get about 400,000 credits to buy a Lambo FOR ONE FUCKING RACE !!!!

look at the poor trolls trolling the hell out of GT with this forza shit.

GT5 and prologue alone sold more than the entire collection of forza series. Learn to have some respect.

betrayerofhope dude chill the hell out, theres more than enough room for 2 decent racing sims. both have their strengths and both are great, gt3/4 are still my best memories of racing games ever, but i have to admit to enjoying forza 3 more than gt5 so far.

im sure pd will continue their awesome support and il get that warm fuzzy gt glow back soon

Since november not a week has gone by where I at least did a couple of laps of GT5. AMG School certainly keeps me busy, but also the rally challenge.

Nice update for the rest, but would like some dlc!

Thanks PD for patching your completely unfinished game. I wish other developers would take a nod from PD and spend 5+ years making a game only to release it in a completely unfinished, broken state.
