White Knight Chronicles II, Origins dated

PS3 and PSP RPGs launch on same day.

Both White Knight Chronicles II on PlayStation 3 and White Knight Chronicles: Origins on PSP go on sale in the UK and Ireland from 10th June, publisher Sony has announced.

Australia and New Zealand get them on the 9th June and other PAL territories on the 8th.

Developed by Level-5 and first released in Japan back in 2009, Chronicles II picks up from the solid 2008 original.

A 30-hour campaign, redesigned combat and online co-op for six people are all promised.

Matrix-developed Origins on the PSP provides a little backstory, set 10,000 years before the original game. Again, there's a 30 hour campaign to wade through, as well as four player co-op.

Sony has blessed as with new trailers for both games – take a look below.

    it looks great i did enjoy the first game.

    I think I'll pick this up at launch, the first one is still going for £40 in some places, niche RPGs take forever to drop in price.

    Still pissed off that I bought the first one just after they announced that the second game comes packed with an updated version of the first.

    Looking brilliant. Was going to get White Knight Chronicles 2, and will at some point, but with Alice: Madness Returns looking to be incredible, EA's getting my money on day 1.

    WKC1 was a brilliant game though, if a little short (20 hour story mode for a JRPG is too short, along with an easy difficulty are its only faults I found).

    Matrix developing the PSP version? They the devs that did Alundra? If so, that's pretty awesome!

    I think they look good , the psp game was a suprise to be honest and its good we can get play the second one (which includes the first game with it).

    Level 5 are great and i hope can see more games from them i know it not going do modern warfare numbers but i think level 5 make quality games so looking forward to them

    People say there no quality jrpg games but i think this and tales of graces are going buck that trend , maybe not in sales but hopefully in people enjoying the games.

    Good news, enjoyed the first WKC a lot, despite its obvious flaws.

    Im a big Level 5 fan since Dark Cloud/Chronicle, i loved those games, Rogue Galaxy was good but not great, i didnt get WKC as it got terrible reviews all round and didnt want to waste my money. Can anybody who played WKC tell me if i should buy this based on the overhaul etc

    @itsfuzzy

    Simple answer: NO you should not buy this game. Played the J version, and it is god awful.

    My only issue was that the online was devoid of anyone, and really tough to get a team together, it spoiled the longevity for me and i ended up trading it in. I am tempted by WKC2 but i dont want to go through the same thing again.

    @dunbain

    Thanks for the advice. I was waiting on WKC for years, the big Level 5 release for the PS3. Im very very sad about this. I suppose Prof Layton is where all their focus is now

    @itsfuzzy im getting both games ill try write some feedback on them once ive played them and hopefully eurogamer will do a review anyway.

    The origonal white knight seems fairly slow paced from what i have played of it but overall i still looking forward to the game.

    They look good but Sony are stupid to release them on the 10th June the same day as Red Faction, Infamous 2 and Duke Nukum.

    I seem to remember last year WKC had a really silly release day as well, everyone was playing something else except me. On my own playing WKC :(
