SOCOM 4 gets limited double XP offer

Zipper welcomes PS3 users back.

Anyone checking out SOCOM: Special Forces multiplayer will get double XP "for the near future", developer Zipper Interactive has announced.

Community manager Chris Roper made the announcement on the recent PlayStation 3 exclusive's official site.

"In an effort to help bring everyone back up to speed, we're doubling any and all XP earned during competitive multiplayer games for the near future," he wrote.

"You don't have to do anything other than complete a game to reap the benefits of our limited-time 'Double XP' bonus, so get out there and lock and load!"

SOCOM: Special Forces launched last month, just before the month-long PSN outage, earning a middling 6/10 from Eurogamer's Steve Hill.

Last week, Sony announced it had made a number of redundancies at Zipper.
