PSN Store returns 24th May - report
Bi-weekly updates to get up to speed.
Sony will try to bring the PlayStation Store back online on 24th May.
That's what the company allegedly wrote to publishing partners in a memo intercepted by Gamasutra.
Sony apparently plans two content releases a week for the next two weeks to get back to speed.
"We thank you for your patience as we work to resume service of the PlayStation Store," wrote memo author Jack Osorno, PlayStation Network content manager.
The first push will happen on 24th May and contain content that was supposed to appear on 26th April.
The second push will happen on 27th May and contain content from 3rd May.
The third and fourth pushes will happen on 31st May and 3rd June, and contain content originally to be spread over three weeks.
What comes back when isn't set in stone: "If there are concerns, we are willing to consider adjusting the release date of your content on this schedule," wrote Osorno. "Adjustments will be made on a case by case basis."
Whether Sony will offer developers severely affected by the PSN outage any additional assistance Osorno didn't say.

Edit: In related news I've just had this email from Lovefilm:
"You probably know that Sony have relaunched the PlayStation®Network and that, in turn, our streaming service has resumed on the PS3™. It's been a frustrating couple of weeks for all concerned, so thanks for hanging in there.
And because we always want to give you great value and a top quality service, you'll be getting £5 off your next payment – no quibbles, no hassle; it's our goodwill gesture to LOVEFiLM members who watched a film on the PS3™ in the month before the PSN went down"
This is good news for everyone who has a lovefilm sub. My Lovefiilm subs are pre-paid until next January though (got a 30% discount) so I wonder if this will still count towards my next payment in February 2012. Shouldn't have thought.

What's twice a week then? (seriously)
All I want is to download 3 100KB costumes and fatalities for Mortal Kombat. You lot can have your free games after I'm done. If you cunts bring the store down and stop me downloading those teeny tiny files, I will call Jay & Silent Bob to hunt you down.

@el bandito
All style guides will tell you to avoid using bi-weekly in the UK due to the bi- prefix being associated in normal use to "alternate" i.e biannual, bicentennial etc
Twice weekly, or fortnightly should be used instead.
Its fine to use it in that manner in North American English.

I am legitimately worried that one month may be not enough to download them with a 2MBps connection if they are more than 20GBs, each.
I don't recall having downloaded anything of that size so I don't know how much time it will take.

/checks today's headlines. apparently not.
On topic, this is good news. I've got a couple of demos from before the outage that I would like to upgrade to full versions and a shedload of DLC to redownload after fitting a new HDD. And I'm sure people would like to claim their compensation freebies too.
