IW: Modern Warfare 3 leak partly accurate

Bowling: "I'd wait for the real reveal."

Some, but not all, of the info leaked on Modern Warfare 3 earlier today is accurate, so says Infinity Ward exec Robert Bowling.

The developer's creative strategist addressed the massive info dump, which purported to reveal full plot details, locations, weapons and game visuals, via a post on his Twitter feed:

"A lot of hype & a lot of leaked info on #MW3, some still accurate, some not. To avoid spoiling the experience, I'd wait for the real reveal."

Still no word on when publisher Activision intends to officially take the wraps off the sequel to 2009's Modern Warfare 2, but you shouldn't have long to wait.

So, borrowing Sony's bullshit-o-meter for a moment, the whole thing has been leaked.

  • paketep #2 1 year ago

Oh, no. 402, the lying mastah, is going to be back in the news everyday with (yawn) yet another Call of Cookie Cutter.

Why wait for the real reveal, the leak has so much information that developers/publishers would never release before the game comes out. Of course the story info and the SP stuff should be kept back for obvious reasons, but the MP map list, the weapons, the models etc, that stuff is great stuff and I think developers should be more transparent about that sort of thing.

Presumably the whole thing was right then.

    NOVEMBER this comes out. November.

Seeing as you won't review it until day of release, its going to be a fuckton of hot air and bluster from now until then. What joy

Reading and posting shit like this is like ejaculating before having sex. What's the fucking point. Are poeple really that impatient to ruin others and our fun for their extra 10 minutes of fame. Shame on Kotaku, EG and everyone going along with it.

They say it like we should expect a MAJOR surprise.
  • Subdominator #8 1 year ago

So ... will it be called Modern Warfare 3 or just MW3 because of that ongoing Respawn Studios vs Activision trial? Could be pretty expensive for Activision if they release it as Modern Warfare 3 and the court decides that they had indeed no right to use that title. Like 1 billion expensive.

Maybe you play an assassin hired by NASA to kill Price because he blew up the International Space Station? Codename: Rack Of Beef.

"To avoid spoiling the experience, I'd wait for the real reveal."

What is it with the BF3 fanboys ? Its like they love Call of Duty more then the CoD fans do.

Stop with the immature BF3 > MW3 crap. Everyone is sick of it. You don't like CoD then go into a BF3 thread.

FFS you BF3 fanboys are the worst type of fanboys.

Partly accurate means the whole thing is absolutely spot on and they are scrambling to re write the story.

They cant find any crayons at the moment though, so it could be while.
  • BuddyChrist #15 1 year ago

    Quick! Change it!

Maybe they'll do a Rockstar and make it without guns!!

Maybe they could chuck in a free pair of Nike trainers for the loyal demographic
  • GozuTennai #16 1 year ago

If its made by treyarch then no thanks.
  • metalangel #17 1 year ago

@thedriffter50: Wrong. They're better than CoD fanboys. Everything about BF is better than CoD, whether it's the actual games, the companies that make them, or the elitist devotees.*

    *DISCLAIMER FOR HALFWITS ONLY: Sarcasm

Bowling, haven't heard of that cunts name in a while.
  • NeverWinter78 #19 1 year ago

Wait for the real release. You mean the one that tells us it's MW2 with better graphics. Think we all know that anyway!
  • Jamiesan #20 1 year ago

MW3 spoiler: Bobby Kotick is a douche.

I know what happens in this game.
You aim down some sights at some men.
    They (hopefully) fall over.
The tugging, nagging siren wail of the onerous duty is served.
    Credits.

Robert Bowling, I'll be damned! It seems he is still alive. No mean feat after the way he lied about the server's thing, then promptly went AWOL as the forums drowned under a tsunami of the most impressive rage I have ever witnessed. I believe he had to communicate by twitter for 4 months as he lived out of a suitcase, staying one step ahead of the fans who wanted an old school style lynching.

He has told more lies than a politician, he's had more death threats than Neil Lennon, every day above ground is a good day...you know him, you love him - the one and only :)

I can't wait to hear the crap he has to spin this time with a straight face ;)

    @coolBrtannia

Maybe. I don't give a crap about it with this game. Just sets a precedent for leaking story's all over the place. For games like ME3 or DA3 I would be annoyed.

Still don't see the point in spilling the beans early.
  • Freakachuu #24 1 year ago

Could we not have a COD story every day until it's release? I don't even play the bloody games and I feel like I know everything there is to know about them.
  • username84 #25 1 year ago

    @Thedriffter50

I know what you mean. Just ignore it, these people gain sustenance by making sure others they don't know are aware they don't like COD. An unholy addiction that seems only to get worse with time. All you need is an article one paragraph long on COD and they home in like flies on turd. Fingers tapping, emotions boiling and keyboards flying as they desperately vent their anger at a..... !!!COMPUTER GAME!!!

What ever happened to "if you don't like it don't play it?" and I'm no massive COD fan.

I find it funny that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (abbreviated as Call of Duty: MW3 or simply MW3) is currently in development by Infinity Ward with assisted development from Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software co-developing multiplayer development, e.g. weapons, maps, perks, etc. That's a lot of developers making MW3!
