PSN matchmaking back in next few days?
Online gaming to return first.
Sony plans to bring PlayStation Network matchmaking back online within the next couple of days, according to a trusted Eurogamer source.
When contacted for comment, SCE corporate communications director Patrick Seybold told Eurogamer, "We're working to get the network back on as soon as we can."
Meanwhile, a PlayStation Europe community manager has confirmed that Sony intends to get online gaming back up and running before other PSN services.
"Once again, 31st May is the date for FULL restoration of PSN services. Restoration is phased. Online gaming will return BEFORE May 31st," read a post on MusterBuster's Twitter feed earlier today.
Over the weekend, a Sony spokesperson warned that full PSN service might not return until 31st May.

As said above, I just hope if they are pushing it ready for Brink, that it's stable and not going to go down again after the bombardment of users that will log on minutes after it's up.

I agree about the fear mongering, though. It got a bit out of hand.

Karma is a b**ch indeed. I think that their own sloppiness is some form of evidence of their innocence regarding the PSN attack.
I found it funny that their forum avatars are mostly photos of girls. It's suggestive of something.

In the first place it's not the hackers fault at all, it's Sony that didn't protect itself enough. They have a lot to make up to win the gamers trust now. I'm even thinking about buying a 360 again so i can play Brink and LA-noire (LA also needs internet for the dlc-stuff and the hint-system). I'm happy to pay 50 euros a year if the service is secured and always working.
If the matchmaking and friends lists are not online by the end of the week i think me and a lot of other people are just throwing in the towel. I'll keep my ps around for Infamous 2 and to browse porn on a big HDTV.
If Sony really want to set things right with their consumers they will drop the price for it's exclusives by 10EUR at least and for 2 weeks they will drop the licensing fees for other games so we can buy cheaper games. That would be a start.

As for the return of online gaming, looks like the return will be after I go back to work again, so that's unfortunate. I hope basic login and friendslists appear at the same time so that I can get back to co-op gaming, and trophy syncing would be nice, then I could maybe finally install this hard drive that I've had on desk for two weeks now.
