UK top 40: Portal 2 holds firm
Virtua Tennis, Thor struggle.
Post-apocalyptic puzzler Portal 2 has held firm atop the chart table, securing a second week at number one.
Virtua Tennis 4 could only land a disappointing 23rd place. SEGA's tennis sim was the chart's only new entry. Fellow SEGA title Thor failed to hammer home a top 40 placing at all.
Mortal Kombat maintained another week in second place. Zumba Fitness stepped back up to third, likely buoyed by the release of a PS3 edition.
The remainder of the top ten remains largely unchanged - a price-reduced Call of Duty: Black Ops fired into fifth, LEGO Star Wars III was sixth and FIFA 11 scored seventh.
After 79 weeks in the chart, Wii Fit Plus leapt up to eighth, while THQ's Homefront and Ubisoft's Just Dance 2 made up ninth and tenth, respectively.
Also missing from the listing is Maxis role-player Darkspore, although Chart-Track will not have counted Steam sales for the PC title.

Surprised Thor didn't break the top 40, I thought it was common place for shitty movie tie-in games to sell well?

Any word on how the various versions sold?
I'd like to see if the PS3 version sold more, with the PC/Mac version bundled in for free (and sadly not unlockable for many)
Could be a new precedent...

59% Xbox 360
33% PS3
8% PC
Though those figures are pretty skewed as Chart-Track doesn't count sales on Steam.

I didn't know garbage could sell so well at £40 a pop

Cheers...
I would've imagined more PS3 share to be honest...Although the PSN outage may have swayed those who didn't pre-order...
Still, thoroughly deserved on all platforms...

Surprised Mortal Kombst selling so well. I guess bringing it back to its roots did the trick.

Anyway, good to see Thor not make the chart, hopefully that will be the end for shitty movie-game cash-ins.

On the other hand, congrats to Portal 2. Great little game, and the news of free DLC probably helped keep it up there a little.

Is it the same this week, or is Portal 2 number 1 on PS3 now too?

MK remains ahead of Portal 2 on PS3. The average PS3 owner clearly prefers gratuitous violence to lateral thinking

Oh cool. Racist and exploitive trash is all forgiven if it has a good multi-player. Gotcha.
