The Last Guardian suffers delay
Sony delays ICO/SOTC Collection, too.
Sony has delayed PlayStaton 3 exclusives The Last Guardian and ICO/Shadow of the Colossus HD Collection.
"I announced at last year's Tokyo Game Show that the release timing of The Last Guardian which is currently being developed would be holiday 2011," wrote director and game designer Fumito Ueda on the EU PlayStation Blog.
"However, to provide more challenging and better quality of content to users and to fulfil First Party Studio's obligations, I decided to postpone its release timing.
"All the members of my production team are working together at a fast pace to develop and release the game in First Party Studio quality.
"I sincerely apologize to all the customers who have been waiting for The Last Guardian for so long, but I beg for your patience. I will also announce the new release timing at a later time."
The Last Guardian was due out holiday/winter 2011, and is now expected in 2012.
The ICO/Shadow of the Colossus Collection was due out spring 2011 – or round about now.
Eurogamer last saw The Last Guardian in March. "The great mystery is that there's no mystery at all," Oli Welsh wrote in our The Last Guardian preview. "The Last Guardian is a story about a small boy befriending a giant animal, and that's all it needs to be."
