DC Universe Heads or Tails patch out

P-p-p-p-pick up a Penguin.

The Heads or Tails patch was applied to DC Universe Online on PC and PS3 overnight.

Servers were down early this morning and there's no indication that anything went wrong.

The free Heads or Tails patch brings Harvey Dent/Two-Face and Penguin to DC Universe Online. Dent leads an instanced mission to Penguin's hideout, and will either help you or hinder you - as Two-Face - depending on his signature toss of a coin. Dent/Two-Face will also be playable in Legends PVP.

The update also offers the final part of the Batcave raid for level 30 players, culminating in a battle against Batman himself. A guest appearance from sneakster Mister Mxyzptlk is promised as well.

Great to hear there's some new content. As a subscriber on a low populated server I'm getting very worried about this game. New content is good, now if only the developers would merge the servers.

I hate to agree with Dizzy but it's true at least on the PC side, I've still got another 2 months subbed in the game but the last time I touched it was to check out Feb's update and before that I was barely on.

The UI could be forgiven as it was clear a 'console first' game but due to the fact chat was barely used and VoIP never worked right it felt more like a singleplayer title trying to be a MMO - which given the amount of content it was... the update in feb really killed interest for me as 3 hours worth of content (if that) isn't worth paying for a whole month, no dought by the end of me finishing this post 2/3 of the game population probly would have completed this month's 'content' already.

Not only that but those who stayed past the first month actally kicked and invited from groups AND guilds based on if you knew and were forced in most cases to use the combat animation exploit to 'maximise your dps' - gah.

It's a massive shame really, the story was good, the cgi movies/extras were going to be great, I actally FELT like my character was part of the DC world interacting with it (instead of having the 'lore' being told by text and static npc 'hero' questgivers) the voice acting was brilliant, HOWEVER it just proves that BIG IPs thrown in with BIG talent doesn't make up for a lackluster content driven MMO.

Heck go look at Rift a brand new IP (http://www.riftgame.com/en/status/index....) thats holding it's own after the subs kicked in yesterday and rumour has it Trion have actally gotten most of their money back from the game already whereas SOE have just hacked half it's staff..

Hopfully this is the final nail in the 'lets just have a huge IP and push out a half baked MMO and make it back on boxsales and hyperloyal fans' - YES I'm looking at you Bioware, EA, THQ, and Vigil!

^^Agree. It also amuses me that they call it "free" content, without wishing to get into a debate about server maintenance etc.

I'm continuing to play this game but again, the low server populations are killing the game. They need to hurry up and do a server merge, and just initiate cross-platform play, already!

Shame, but not unexpected. Several of my friends and i all bought the PC version at release and had quite a bit of fun but after a week we were all bored.

totally agree with kremlik RIFT is a cracking example of how to do an mmo, shame it isn't more original but its damn solid fun and has kept us all subscribing.
