    Still laughing at all the advertising for Homefront, all the hype, and the best review they could stick on the adverts and the box was "9/10 - Zoo"

    It was always going to go to number 1 though, because it's Shooty Bang Bang 27! MOAR GUNZ!
  • Eraysor #2 1 year ago

    The result for Shogun is completely unreliable anyway; it's almost not even worth reporting PC game sales in relation to console sales any more.

    On one hand I'm glad because hopefully this means Kaos Studios won't be closed, on the other I'm miffed at the 4 hour campaign and the currently unstable multiplayer.
  • Goodfella #4 1 year ago

    Yes, sadly this was bound to get to number one. I feel better though thinking that it will be number one in the 'most traded in game' charts in a few days. ;)

    playing top spin online I got the trophy for losing 3-0 3-0 quite quick!!

    Good advertising pays off I guess. Saw the ad a few times it does makes the game look good IMO.
  • DrStrangelove #7 1 year ago

    It might turn out better than expected for THQ. I hope so.

    I wonder what would of happened if EA released Duty Calls on disk with the maximum amount of gamer score you could get with that 5 min game? The way trends are going even Kirby is going to go multiplayer Rambo to increase sales..

    As I said before 'worth/qualitly' is basically just how fast you can max out your gamerscore and try to claim your money back with 'faluty' excuse (soooooooo many people have tried to reattach the game seal and give it back it's stupid) in most gamer's eyes these days not the game itself

    The single player is very enjoyable while it lasts. If they'd doubled the length it would be a bit more acceptable.
  • aidey6 #11 1 year ago

    @Eraysor; apart from when Blizzard launch the next World of Warcraft of course!!!

    Shame that Yakuza 4 hasn't fared better, come on people, we want to see Kenzan and Of the End over here, buy buy BUY!

    I completed Yakuza 3 on Friday with a total play time of 136 hours, 31 minutes, 37 seconds, 351 saves, 4 Continues, and went straight into Yakuza 4, worried that I might suffer from Yakuza burnout, but I'm thoroughly enjoying it, fantastic game!

    Top Spin 4 is ace(!) online, I haven't even touched single player, and I've had no problems with Homefront online either, as long as you stick to Skirmish mode when they tell you to, although my 32 player Frontlines alike game was absolutely fine too.

    Even on "guerilla" difficulty, single player Homefront doesn't last long. It's fun while it lasts, but it is all about the multiplayer.
  • levitate #14 1 year ago

    So a bunch of monkeys rate the game 9/10, they decide to slap that on the advertising and the game jumps straight into the number 1 spot? Something's very wrong with the console audience of today. Very. Wrong.
  • LostGamer #15 1 year ago

    Aww Yakuza 4 why so low?

    For that matter why aren't people buying more Bulletstorm?! Its a very good game.
  • RobotRocker #16 1 year ago

    I wonder how many people are already lining up to trade Homefront back in. I already saw two people pretty much begging Game to take it back off their hands in Oxford Street on Saturday.

    No sympathy if you bought it and regret it though. You saw the warnings and the reviews for the nasty piece of shit. You deserve your awful game and the £20 CEX will take it off your hands for.

    Do the charts include steam sales? I would have thought most people would buy a steam only game like total war through steam.
  • gjgjg #18 1 year ago

    what's with PM white selling more than black... ? 2 places difference raises my brow. No racist jokes pls.
  • disusedgenius #19 1 year ago

    Good showing by Shogun as I'm guessing that that doesn't included a lot of DD sales.
  • BBIAJ #20 1 year ago

    @levitate:

    Those of us buying Homefront online wouldn't have known about the 9/10 from Zoo score until the game was already in our hands, so it had absolutely no influence over us whatsoever.
  • kinky_mong #21 1 year ago

    Not surprised Okamiden didn't chart or that all the shit munchers bought Homefront in droves because "it looks like another Call of Duty blud!"

    Sigh.
  • crozon #22 1 year ago

    Considering Shogun 2 is the third most played game on steam it must have sold a shit ton. This also seems to be the first time a full sequel Total War game hasn't been No 1. DD must be really eating into retail sales.
  • Machetazo #23 1 year ago

    @19: usually comes down to legendary monsters. No reason to think that isn't the case this time, too.

    @BBIAJ:

    Fair enough. That would explain a lot actually. Cheers.

    glad Just Cause 2 is still selling as well,who doesnt like blowing S**t up?Need to replay it again for the fifth time this year...
  • twoism #26 1 year ago

    Shame about Yakuza 4, but at least it's in there unlike Okamiden. Speaking of which if only Capcom had waited a little longer to add 3D support, it might have actually gotten the sales it deserves when the 3DS comes out. Really sad it's not in the top 40, this does not bode well for the series.
  • menage #27 1 year ago

    Black + White > Homefront?
  • cowell #28 1 year ago

    @menage

    This week? No, Homefront was more than double. If you want to compare the launch week's, then Pokemon total was much bigger
  • king26 #29 1 year ago

    When did Homefront come out? I've been to busy playing Killzone 3 to notice!!
  • Machetazo #30 1 year ago

    @twoism. Lack of publicity. Try the unscientific insta-poll of finding someone you know that's in to their gaming and ask them what they think of Okamiden. If they mention PS2, that's not a good sign!
  • TheGuvernor #31 1 year ago

    Sounds like Homefront is a fungal ring job - published by dick tits.
