Kinect hits 10 million mark

Fastest selling gaming gizmo ever.

Microsoft's Kinect add-on has now sold a whopping 10 million units, the platform holder has announced.

Off the back of that achievement, Guinness has awarded it the title of fastest selling consumer electronics device ever. The peripheral sold an average of 133,333 units per day in its first 60 days between 4th November 2010 and 3rd January 2011.

"The sales figures here speak for themselves," commented Gaz Deaves, gaming editor for Guinness World Records. "According to independent research, no other consumer electronics device sold faster within a 60-day time span, which is an incredible achievement considering the strength of the sector."
