Monster Hunter "goodness" for the West

Will Portable 3rd launch on these shores?

Capcom has told western Monster Hunter fans they have not been left out in the cold, sparking speculation that Monster Hunter Portable 3rd will launch in the US and Europe.

"All I can say is, the future for Monster Hunter fans in the west will be bright, but just as there was a sizeable gap between Freedom Unite and [Portable] 2nd, I think there's going to be a little bit of a gap [following Monster Hunter Tri]," Capcom's vice-president of strategic planning and business development Christian Svensson said in a recent question and answer session.

"And exactly what form it takes, I can't speak to - I have to unfortunately stay mum. But fear not, you guys have more goodness coming in the future."

Fans are currently speculating that PlayStation Portable game Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, due out on the Next Generation Portable at some point, will release on these shores.

The last Monster Hunter game to launch outside of Japan was 2010's Wii exclusive Monster Hunter Tri, which Eurogamer awarded 9/10.
